Has this ever happen to anyone else but me. I was getting ready to burn up a couple of batteries this afternoon before the rain. I plugged my battery from my Gaui X3 into the AR7200BX and suddenly a quick flash & smoke came out of the AR. As I'm freaking out, i unplugged the battery and started walking back to the house "While cursing the hole time" and proceeded to take apart the Gaui to see what happen. Few hour later, couldn't fined out what went wrong. I put the Gaui back together, fired her up, spooled her up and flew for about 30 seconds, The hole time worrying if it's going to blow up or something but nothing. she flew fine. Tomorrow i will really test her out. Can anyone explain what might of have happen so i don't Fri up my electronics in the future. This is a first for me.

Wow! Got me.... Uh... If there was a spark/flash & smoke coming from the AR7200... I'd pull it out of service... I would... That doesn't sound good.

I'm curious...why did you plug the battery into the AR7200? What size battery did you plug into the AR7200? Is this how you normally power up your heli? Most of us, with our 450 heli's, plug our batteries into the esc and the AR7200 would get it's power supplied through the esc.

The battery was 6 cell/motor.

OK, glad to hear that the battery wasn't plugged directly into the AR. It's only rated up to 8.5v....a 6S pack would surely release the magic smoke.

Well after further evaluation of my electronics, the ESC finally quit on me. I tried to plugged in the battery into the ESC again, another POP occur and the ESC said good bye. I'll be looking for a new ESC again. Glad that the ESC didn't take out the AR like i though it did. Oh well, still have my 450 to fly. Thanks for the help.

If the AR smoked then definitely don't fly it. Just because it flew once doesn't mean it's airworthy. Sorry to say, but you should junk that AR and get a new one.

Thanks pvolcko. Don't be sorry, I seen the AR on e-bay, brand new, are listing for $145.00 which is a lot cheaper then $239.00

Well I'm not sure about the AR. It' still boots up. You and pvocko suggested that I shouldn't fly the AR, It's not air worthy and junk it. What I'm planning to do is buy another ESC "Need one anyway" put in the Gaui and see what happens. The worst could happen is the AR gives out and the heli crashes. It's like any other flight. There is nothing you can do if any electronics give away while in flight, you'll crash. Can't hurt to try before i buy a new AR.

Hummmm... Not me! If it crashes u'll still need a new FBL unit & repair cost to the heli... I'd trash it.

Hey everyone. Well this morning I flew my Tarot 450 after everyone suggested not too. I took the chance and put her in the air with that "I thought" smoked AR. and she flew like nothing was wrong 6 batteries later. Go figuare! :? Just glad that it didn't go bad. :o Now if I can get the Gaui to behave like she suppose too, it will be all good.
