Hey guys.. I forgot.. Which gain setting is it and which way do I adjust if the Heli does the dalphin motion upon FFF and pitch pumps? Is it the ele I gain?

I have to write this Clay, sorry.... Maybe you and your heli could do the Dalfphin motion together and start a new dance routine... Don't forget the pumps though.. LMAO...

What is the Dalphin motion?

it will be nodding in FFF i think it is the I gain, its not holding the angle you set, I think the I is too high but don't quote me on that.

If you haven't messed with individual PID gains yet and have been using the general cyclic gain setting, I'd increase that cyclic gain a bit first to see if it helps. If you are already past that and into PID tuning, then two possibilities.

1) P and/or I gain too low. If the porpoising seems to be more of a "hopping" where it rises off the path, but then comes back in line (or nearly in line) and then rises off again, your P gain is probably a bit too low. If the motion is more of a slowish diving up and down, around your intended line of flight, but never coming back cleanly into line, then too low I gain.

2) P and/or I gain too high. This will result in faster porpoising, perhaps even "chattering" if P gain is too high. If I gain is too high, the porpoising would seem to be on the edge of being out of control, growing worse and worse unless you make corrective inputs (or slow down your FFF speed). Too high I gain would be apparent even in hover when a gust of wind hit it, causing it to oscillate like a ringing bell, slowly settling to stability until the next wind change occured.

Personally I'd try a little higher cyclic gain first, or increased P gain. Just a couple ticks. Observe if the behavior got worse or better, and then adjust again accordingly. Always work in small change amounts with this stuff. If it is too high and you go higher yet in a large jump, it is entirely possible to get the thing to oscillate uncontrollably and end up crashing either out of fear/confusion on what is going on or mechanical stress breaking it in mid air. And if you go too low, you'll have a more difficult time controlling it in hover and FFF due to sluggish control feeling and need to input corrections manually.

And keep in mind good gain settings for high speed FF may not work well for 3D. Typically 3D type flying requires higher gain settings, settings that will tend to cause chattering in high speed big air type stuff.

Porpoising in FFF, is normally a sign of too much Cyclic gain.
I have just dailed down that on my Warp for the same reason.

I think this stems from my maintaince that was done from a couple weeks ago.. New dampers, bearings & links... When I go into Idle Up 3... She is kool until I move around, then she shakes bad.. Laziness on my part I've keep her at Idle Up 2 just cause.. Cause laziness.. But now that this behavior is evident I can't over look it. I dig 3D.. But I gotta go fast too! I mean hey.. If ur not first.. Ur last! Lol

If you got shakes then definitely too much cyclic gain.
