Hey guys... Thought I'd ask how u guys balance ur blades.. I've never done it before..the only time I've ever mix matched blade sets has been on the 450... Kinda don't think it's a big deal there. But as u may have read in my flight log.... I broke 1 blade on my N5C the other day due to a engine shut down resulting in a hard auto. Trippy cause I landed on the skids... Nothing broke but the 1 Rail 606 blade... & it never touched anything! Anyhow.. Buddy of mine had a single Rail 606 & gave it to me. I don't have a balancer, so I ran a blade bolt through both with a blade washer on the outside and snugged it up. Hold the bolt tips with my fingers... The one he gave me is a good bit lighter as my blade falls. I used 4.5 pieces of the Align tracking stickers on the tips of the lighter blade.. No change.. Aggrivated and about to just order a new set... Any suggestions before I do?

Well all u guys are awesome! Graham.. That way is pretty difficult with the larger blades. Lee, I my need that, where did u get it? Tony, that's basically how I did it. Jesse, I agree! Talked to Matt last night.. He gave me a store credit due to a UPS claim on a previous order... So I'm gonna stick these back as spares & if the need arises again.. I've got two to choose from.. So about $50. For a new set of Rail 606's... Gonna take the time to clean her up and do a thorough maintenance job on her while I wait on delivery of new blades... Already have new tail blades in the drawer... Little wear on the main gear.. I'll put a new one on... Tail push rod has some wear (I didn't use the silicone sleeve during the build... Which keeps the CF rod from wearing out in the guides.. Dummy!). New plumbing, check valve, filter, probably pull the head and re lube the thrust bearings(may not, I do have ports on the grips for this purpose)... Yeah.. I'll use this opportunity to due the yearly on it. Thanks for the help guys... All good info u guys gave! Awesome!

Tracking stickers are pretty light. I'd use electrical tape to get close and then use the trackers. Also you need to add the weight at the cg of the blade (assuming cg is in the same place on both blades). Only apply off cg when you need to also move the cg to get it matching the other.
