Tail Blades

Hey everyone. I've notice that I can get 62mm to 68mm tail blades for my Gaui X3. Does the bigger tail blades make the X3 react differently then the smaller tail blades or will I even notice the difference between the two sizes?

The larger tail blades will give better tail authority to the heli.
I would suggest that the 62mm are for running on 3S with 325mm main blades.
The 68mm when running 6S on 360mm main blades.
I run 68mm on my Warp 360.

Yep... But I run the larger 450l tail blades on my 450 w 325mm mains.. Works good!

Thanks guys! They also have 82mm and 86mm blades for the the X3. Will that's be too much authority for the X3? I'm running 6S with 362mm RJX blades and the motor is the Xnova XTS 2618 series/12T motor pinion/ HW 50a ESC. Right now I'm using 62mm. Where I fly "Backyard" I can use the authority!
With that motor I was thinking about trying out the 82mm?
86mm will be is crazy, I think. 68mm seems reasonable one's to use.

Suppose that's a subjective question really... Personally I like as large a tail blade as will fit without impending the mains.. Matter of fact.. I usually use 696 mains with 116 tails on my E7SE.. Wanted to try the the 716 mains the other day and loved it.. On the 6th flight I got comfortable and started banging on the sticks a bit.. It cost me both main & tail blades.. Well, one of each to be exact. Conclusion is 696 w 106 or 116... 716 w 106 max. So do take into account that blades do flex a good bit under load & the right combination of load & cyclic input does flex the blades! Just say'n.

Thank you for that illustration! OUCH I will just order 68mm tail blades after seeing that and be happy with it. Thanks clay.

Take a measurement before u order.. If u could use a larger blade.. I would... If.
