Mobius Help Please

I am pretty bitter right now! I just flew 4 packs on my ZMR 250....thought I had the Mobius recording....but when I get home (all excited)....the mini SD is blank.

I just had my best flights EVER (flips, rolls, controlled turns, and more) and my mini SD card is blank.

So...let's go back to the beginning and see what I have done wrong....

I pressed the power button to turn it on. The LED light is yellow. I pressed the Mode button to turn on the Video Mode and the LED turns Blue. Began to fly around and landed safely. I pressed the Mode button to turn off the video and the Blue light turns yellow. I pressed the power button to turn it off.

What did I "not" do?

I'm not kidding guys....it was awesome! On one flight, I gained a bunch of altitude and then nosed it down....diving towards the ground and then pulled out of the very speedy dive. Did a loop and a roll. On the next flights I was looping and flipping and rolling. I would gain altitude roll 180 degrees to inverted and then flip out of it. My parents were there with their two kites (there was a nice breeze for kites)....Dad asked me to try to hover and video the kites....so I did. But no....I didn't do something right and my mini SD card is blank.

...sad...

Ok, I just did some "mental refreshing" and I re-read the instructions again. I did all the above right but, what I didn't do was, I didn't press the Shutter button to begin recording. I needed to see a blinking Blue light. I simply forgot that step. My flying time has been so limited lately, I just forgot how to actually operate the camera.

Nonetheless, this just means that I need to get my batteries charged and go fly again.

Also Derek on the Mobius the SD card can dismount. And if you have a hard crash the SD card can eject from the slot. I normally put a cable tie round the camera and over the SD slot to hold it in:)

I hate when that happens.
You obviously figured what you did wrong.
The Mobius default start mode is 1080p 30 which is yellow light.
I think if you push mode it switches to 720p which is blue light.
Flashing means recording.

I have mine set to start recording when I plug in my flight pack, you can change this in the Mobius software.
I have a little USB cable that came I think from Banggood that gets power from a 5v bec on the quad.
No fear of running the mobius battery flat then. :)

I have a small piece of tape over my SD card so it can't fall out, I take the files off through the usb cable.

Ok...I need to get into the Mobius software and check if I have it set for 1080p or 720p. I honestly don't remember.

mental note....flashing is recording.

I'm still bummed, lol

OK, I just played with it some more. I just need to press the power button to turn it on. Then press and hold the Shutter button to begin recording in 1080p with the blinking yellow LED. I don't even need to press the Mode button.

(now...will I remember this tomorrow when I go fly again?)

Or get a cable hooked to your quad and set to auto record. :D
You can just plug it in to a spare motor output on your Naze.

I dunno about getting an extra cable. I use my Mobius on my ZMR, Skyfun, and canard. I just need to remember to push the right buttons lol

At that price you could get one for each.
You could even power it from a spare channel on your rx. :)

I see that it's got some red and black wires. I'm assuming those would go to the spare port on the Naze. Where would the yellow and black wires go?

And...would it make any difference if I used a 3S or 4S pack? I don't wanna damage another Mobius right now, lol.

Yellow and black is video out, you can use that instead of a camera on airplanes.
Although there is very little lag, it is too much for a quad if you intend flying low or close to anything.
That's what I use when I FPV my AXN.
Whatever you plug the red and black in to, just make sure it is 5v or pretty close.
3s or 4s makes no difference as the 5v is regulated.
Your Naze would normally run on 5v from a bec or the ESC, or you could plug it in to a spare channel on your rx which is virtually the same thing.
Also make sure the Mobius battery is charged, that way it draws very little current, just enough to run the camera.
Once you start doing this, the only thing you can forget is to put an SD card in, I never take mine out, I transfer the video through the USB cable at the end of each days flying and I leave a piece of tape over the slot.
Once it is set up, stop and start recording is automatic, no forgetting to record flights. :D

I think I may have done a few tweaks in my mobius to stop that constant white balance change so that the ground does not go dark when you look in to light areas at dusk.
You can even set that up on a separate mode so that one is for daytime and another for lower light in the evenings.
That does require remembering to change modes before flying though. :)
