My GF's borther came around today while i was doing some work on the quad, he asked how i was getting on with the quad and why it was in bits. I told him about the crash and damage and showed him the fitting that had come away from the vtx and he has a look at it and says he can reconnect the sma fitting.
He took the vtx away and returned with it an hour later, sma reattached.

So what is the likelihood of the vtx working?

I know you can't power it up without an antenna because it blows the amp, but it was already power when the antenna was removed.

I have had one repaired and the range is greatly reduced.
It is a bit of a weak point on those.
My 250mw one is much better.

I thought you were only allowed 25mw over there. :D

In the uk a radio ham licence is needed for any vtx above 25mw.
I'll do some range tests later in the week and see how it fairs. But if that's the case I may have to invest in another 600mw

You are correct Stambo:) but very few people fly with that.

I did a VHF radio operators licence in a previous job, long before they limited the licence to every 5 years for renewal:) Mine is for life:)
