Possessed FC?

Need your help again. I have the omnibus F4V2 fc and I have 3.2.1 firmware flashed on it. When I go into betaflight to program the ports, everything responded just fine. When I go to plug in the battery to calibrate the esc on the fc, that's where everything goes weird. It wants to disconnect and connect repeatedly. Once I unplug the battery everything is fine again. I'm very confused

Any ideas? Thanks

Ok I went ahead and set up my 180 like the 210 with the same PDB and FC to see what happens

. Got into DFU and flashed. All went well til I went to plug the battery in and the 180 does the samething as the 210...gets possessed

I have too much invested into those 2 quad to give up now plus I cant let this kick my butt or can it

Any idea is appreciated. Also much thanks to Derek for helping me out alone the way

That is just insane! I hope these guys can pop on here and help you sort this out.

Sounds like the battrey power is causing the FC to crash. Check soldering connections especially on the BEC if you have one:)

Hey there Graham Lawrie. Thanks for your advise. I've checked out battery connections and tried different batteries out too and still the same thing. Wacked out board. I even went ahead and change out the PDB for another, just to see what happens. No dice! The 180 and the 210 are acting the sameway. I'm running out of ideas and solutions. This stink. I'm so close but yet so far away

. If it wasn't for bad luck, i wouldn't have any luck at all with theses quad

. Oh well... back to the drawing board, i guess. Any other advice will be well appreciated

.

....because you have the same problem with 2 different quads, id be wondering if there is a problem with the software or your pc.

Yeah, maybe. Graham show me an article on RCGroup that someone had the same problem and tried a different PC. I gave everything else a try, I'll guess I'll try my 2 in 1 laptop. Maybe that will work. I don't know what else to do. I'm lost and bumming out

Its got to be either as Derek says a program issue or the board has an issue when power is connected. When powered with usb to pc it works as it is using different voltage. When the battery is connected it shuts down. All you are introducing is the battery so it has to be a voltage issue to the board or a program issue. I will do some research:)

If you have something plugged into the ic2 port, eg bluetooth module, it will do this as the usb and ic2 share the same port, so it cant have both, when you power up with the lipo, it powers the bluetooth module for example, and usb cant talk:)

Ok I turned off the bluetooth mode on my computer and I have no wireless mouse, Thanks Derek for 411. This time when I go to plug the battery in, the same thing happens but the rx light gets dim and starts flashing like it was looking for a signal. Once I unplug the battery... everything is fine again. So if it,s a program issue like Derek mention, how would i go about this to make it right? Thanks guys for helping me out

Sounds like a wire issue to the rx from the power supply to it?

First I like to say Happy Easter to everyone!

It's a power issue for sure. The only wire I have is the one that they show here with this PDB
http://www.buddyrc.com/kensun-power-dis ... board.html Both quads have the same set up

I'm not sure if I should try another PDB out. Derek has the same PDB and FC on a few of his quads and he has no problem. I'm getting burnt out trying to get theses quad up and flying for awhile now. It's got to be something dumb that I'm over looking. I'll keep trying different methods I guess.

DOG can you do some close up pictures of how you have it wired and are the batteries 3s or 4s:)

Hey Graham. Sure can. The 180 and the 210 are set up the same. Here's a pic without the signal wire and esc not on.

Someone mention to move my harness from the PDB over two pins and flip it over. I guess I was trying to provide 12v into a 5v board. Not good

Are you 3s or 4s?

So you are using SBUS?

Opps I'm sorry Graham. You asked before about 3s or 4s. I'm using 4s on both and i'm using the first pin which is PPM/SBUS.

My problem was I assume 4s/12v leaving the PDB to the FC was 5v

I fix it but I decided to take everything apart and start over. When I fed 12v into the the FC, it burn up a few electronics

Oh well live and learn

I thought it would be alot easier for me to take apart and test the electronics to find out what's working and what's not

. Maybe this time I'll get it right

I thank you much Graham for offering your time

You help me out tremendously. Thanks also to Derek on messenger

I'll post up some pics and video down the road. Here's a pic. of everything I disassemble this evening. One more time

Dog you know that fc has battery in direct, and can handle up to 6s on the battery pads, you can then use current and battery monitoring, I think its the fact your trying to pull to much Ma from the pdb bec to run the fc that's causing you an issue, feed battery straight in to it and the fc has its own on board 5v bec.
