Ive not been flying helis for a couple of months, as i've been concentrating on fixed wing. After crashing my edge 540 beyond repair yesterday i thought it was about time that i got the 550 out and started flying it again instead of it being a shelf queen.

I flew 4 packs today 2 5s (low head speed) and 2 6s i had great fun with both cell counts, and also met a guy who has been flying fixed wing for a couple of years and has just bought a CP heli but is unsure how to set it up as it came RTF. He has got and orange DX6i clone and receiver that he wants to put on the heli as the tx that came with it isnt computerized so he is going to bring the heli around to my house over the weekend and we are going to change the receiver and get it all setup for him, anyway enough waffling.

Thanks guys, i'll be rekitting the plane in the newyear

It made a nice change to fly the heli. Ive just got to get my confidence back with it again, id forgotten how loud and intimidating they are when your not used to them. lol.

My packs are charged and ready for another session tomorrow.

Its not that hard to change from one to the other you've just got to remember to go negative on the pitch when inverted on a heli rather than giving a bit of down elevator.

Glad to see you back to the heli. Too bad about the plane though. I really like flying both plane and helis. I generally fly my plane to warm up then go to the heli. I have learned things flying the plane that have helped flying the heli. Mostly in high speed banked turns. Used to make me nervous with the heli.
