Well I have bee flying predominantly in acro mode for a few weeks now, and line of sight in acro for the first time tonight, I never thought I would have said this though as I was asked to give my mate ago but he wanted to try it in angle, after he had a go I flew for the remainder of the timer and it felt really wrong,

I think I have turned into an acro snob,

I'm the same, after flying acro for a while any sort of self level just seems wrong.

Thanks guys, without your pushing and confidence i would not have done it,

A few of the guys are now trying to keep up with me, where as they were way in front before,

Last night for the first time the quad felt very fluid and smooth,

Well I have had five mins to edit the rubbish out one of the flight videos from Sunday.

it was a fun fight with trying to fly steady and slow, but a handful for me in acro mode.

Absolutely zero, using the new DAL5045 bull nose props, and not even a nick out of any, 3 batteries one collision with the railings and numerous trees jumped out in front of me when flying,

Nice flying. Especially... Was that the same as your goggle feed? Were the dark sections as dark as it looked in the vid? Can you lock the exposure to avoid the fluctuations?

You're right about addictive Kev. :)
Acro is the only way forward, I bet if you try self level now it will feel really awkward.
What camera are you using for recording.
As Paul said, hopefully you can lock the exposure to stop losing detail in the dark bits.
I know you can with the Mobius.

Alot of is knowing that even if you do break something its not going to be that expensive (proportionally to a heli), so you push harder and in turn learn faster.

People ask me what its like and i tell them its the only thing ive done and had an adrenaline rush sat still.

yeah the guys that were flying with me, and better flyers than me were both in angle mode, I just find it hard to fly like that now due to the angle I run on my cam, the fact it snaps my view back to sky all the time, quad feels much smoother in acro as well, just need to work on my control a bit and fwd speed management, as this gravity is bloody quick, lol

One guy at our club recently got into FPV with a racer size quad. IT took him a good few weeks of practice to get comfortable with it. He kept trying to hover and fly slow and low and those are two of the more difficult things to do in FPV from what I gather. Once he started getting some altitude and keeping some decent forward movement going he got comfortable with the controls and the view and was able to start bringing it down lower with confidence.

FPV racing might be in the cards next year. IT still hasn't caught on that much around my neck of the woods, and having fun with the helis and getting into the planes.

Give it time Paul it will:) It is so addictive:) I still fly my helis, but the expense of crashing is keeping my flying FPV:)

I had an interesting conversation with a guy in our new FPV club. He flies in Angle mode all the time? He fly's very well and very fast, and also does multiple triple flips. His thought is that he has come from a Playstation background where he is used to everything centralizing:)
