Here is a bit of an update...

Since I am off work for the next 10 days, I'm hoping to have a few days for some good testing of the new Spektrum servo on Dustin's helicopter and hoping to get some more flying of my own done. I did take Dustin's 450 with me when I went flying the other day but I had forgotten my DX6i. The 450 3D is bound to my DX6i. I opted to use my DX6i because that's the same tx that Dustin has. So, in my haste to get to the flying field, I forgot my DX6i and, therefore, couldn't do anything with Dustin's helicopter except look at it. What a dork!!!

So...i'm seriously hoping the weather will cooperate...even just a little bit. I'm seriously hoping that the new Spektrum tail servo will cooperate.

It's been sitting on the bench for the past few days. I've asked around at some gymnasiums to see if I could do some simple hover testing "indoors" and no one thought that it would be a good idea. Bummer!

So...although the new Spektrum servo seems to behave well on the bench, I'm just waiting for a day when the weather isn't 15mph+ and/or raining. I'm hoping to try today. It's suppose to rain this afternoon, a bit, but the sun is suppose to be out.

"Dear God, please allow me just a bit of decent "December" weather so that I can test this helicopter....Mother Nature, it probably wouldn't hurt if you helped me out, too"

Dustin and I spoke yesterday. He has asked that I keep it here until I can get a break in the weather for testing.

Without a doubt, this endeavor has taken much longer than anticipated, but also without a doubt, the Blade 450 3D is not mine and I will either send it back to Dustin, without question, if he asks me to or when I've been able to get it flying.

I'll bet... We had a beautiful fall here and it kinda prompted us to believe we might have a strong winter here.. But not so much yet.. Still got 2mths to see tho.

I wanna tell everyone that help me with my 450 3D THANK YOU, yall the greatest, i know kinda alot of people that race cars but not helicopters, my step dad is 1% sure that he can fix helicopter, even though he has 41 helicopters in a room in his house, most of them are fixed, anyways Derek keep my blade 450 3D til you are 100% sure that it flys great

The helicopter is setup and ready to test hover again but we've got freezing rain right now. We had 20+mph winds yesterday. I'm not sure about the forecast for tomorrow.

OK, another bit of update. I just spoke with Dustin. I told him that I just spoke with a woman at a local church. The people at the church might allow me a bit of time in their gymnasium to test Dustin's helicopter. Let's just face it....this is now January and January weather, in NE Indiana, is never very suitable for outdoor flying. So, hopefully I can get the approval from the church people to use their gymnasium so that I can do some indoor testing and hovering so that we can finally call an end to this project.
