Will say the landing needs a bit of work, lol

I think i went in between the branches, and landings have never been my strong point.

What can i say. The crash was pilot error, i didnt punch enough throttle before the flip, i had also found out that the roll and pitch rates in profile 3 were much lower than i normally fly and i had messed around with the throttle curve (which i like a lot).

the only damage was 3 broken props.

That goal to tree branch move looked so cool. Is there a fairly easy to follow thread on how to set up the naze/flip to do flips and rolls? Is it just D/R and expo and your ability that makes the quad so smooth and locked in on turns or is it also a bit of PID tuning?

Its all pids mate, I dont have d/r or expo setup in my tx everything is done through cleanflight.

Ive left the expo stock and just turned the roll and pitch rates up a bit (from 50 to 65) and worked on the PIDs then the rest is ability/bottle. The better you get your PIDs the better you will fly, the the better you fly the finer you can tune the PIDs, but you have to be patient and make small alterations at a time i try and fly at lease 2 packs per setting to get a feel for it before i make a decision on whether too keep that setting.

Very nice flying, Dan! I was screaming when you went through the goal and nearly hit that branch, lol. That was close! Very very exciting ride until the unfortunate crash after the back flip. That was fun!!!

One you loose the fear of breaking it then you can start going wild, the only thing that limits then is ability and thats just practice. I got around 60 flights in last week and about 30 this week so far.

Hey Dan, your field flying is supurb mate, totally awesome to watch.... BUT....lol, you now need to practice in the trees and plan a route through them... I'm sure with your flying skills you will have no problems, be awesome to see some forest flights... Shame about the crash, but 3 props is worth that flight...

Very nice Dan, forest looks like a good site for some high speed proximity practice. Those orange markers you have could be handy there to plan a route..

Thanks Tony, there was only one close shave (the crossbar) in this flight, im starting to get my head around where things are in relation to the camera and quad, it makes for much more interesting flights and gets the old heart pounding.
