Just checked eBay, and you can't get one for under £10 now... Ridiculous... Would a 2200 3s be too heavy then as I have loads of those.?

im flying 2200 at the moment, just because i have the hanging around i do think it will fly a lot better with smaller/lighter packs.

Ive just got back from the field, i've flown 3 packs but in halves about 3:30 a session with shorter mini flights in that 3:30 i need more batteries and warmer weather my hands are frozen (dont say that word near the kids) i couldn't feel my fingers after the last flight. Im going to upload the videos in packs, first pack is rendering now.

second video from today. Im starting to get a feel for how the quad reacts to stick inputs, i just hope the weather holds up tomorrow for some more flights.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocfVI4QwLV8

Ive had a small issue with my camera the foam in the battery case has seen better days and been compressed so the battery came loose and didn't record all the flights that i made so that is the last video from today. I glued a small piece of foam board to the battery cover to hold the battery in place, i will see if its done the trick tomorrow.

Flights are looking good Dan though I feel a landing practice session may be in order. :)
You have no doubt noticed that these things need a lot more throttle manipulation than planes and heli's.
Notice when you turn you lose a bit of altitude.
If you bank a bit more on turns and anticipate with a bit more throttle just as you start the turns you will get them a lot tighter.
Won't be too long before you are ready to fly acro.
That will get things much smoother and any wind will have much less effect.

Liking the ear plug dampers, should be good for angling the cam up too for faster flights.

ha ha landing. Its quite hard to tell where the ground is through the camera, i'm either coming in too low or too high and cutting throttle, a think that it will come with practice.

I had noticed the loss of altitude on turns, I'll try more bank and throttle next time i'm out, it was pretty windy today (8-10 mph) so i was being careful.

The ear plugs seemed to have worked a treat, they can used to angle the camera quite easily i had a look at that before i trimmed them down.

Thanks for the advice Stambo, Ill try those things on my next outing.

Wow Dan, some awesome flying there mate, I can't make comments on landings really as I'm crap... Lmao. Glad you have the guys keeping you right though, hopefully when I get started I'll have the same support. I may even come down to that field with you when I get some practice in... Lol. Pleased those seagulls didn't decide to attack your quad... Lol

As far as landing is concerned, just pick a spot in the middle of the field with no obstacles and try to come close to a complete stop before you drop the throttle too much, you'll get it.
If you are trying to land too close to anything, getting on the ground before you hit it becomes a priority.

One of my flights i tried to chase some of them, they soon out manoeuvred me. lol.

+1 At one point i was trying to land next to myself and ended up just ditching it before i hit myself as it turned out i wasnt too close but it sounded far too close for comfort.

Getting a fair old lick of speed there Dan :)

Just a note on the Zippy compact 1500 that I said was dying.
I found out why. There a bloody great thorn stuck into one of the cells from an earlier crash LOL :D
So the batteries are fine, as long as you don't stick thorns in them.

Im loving it Lee, one of the things that gets me every flight is i turn my head to see where im going. I guess i just have to train my brain to use my eyes and not my head.

What sort of flight times do you get out of those 1500mah's?

I still do this sometimes, but nowhere near as bad as I used to.
I also still lean a bit on turns. :)
