Here is a flight from the other day at the club field. Dad's running the camera and I'm on the sticks.

It really is quite cool! The plane really is quite heavy but it carries dad's paratrooper (16oz) with no real issues. We did add a flight stabilizer. That helped greatly. It was a real treat to fly the plane at the club field and use the 250 foot runway and short grass.

Nice flight D, shame we didn't see the actual drop, but a nice bird and nice landing...

Thanks Tony! I am sure the drop was missed because I failed to let Dad know I was dropping the football. We'll work on it and im sure we'll catch the next drops.

Well, we came close to losing my custom six foot parachute and figure on a day we now know to be far too windy for this type of drop. We will stick to "football" type drops at anything much over 5 MPH wind speed...or at least a smaller and more economical parachute and figure that will drop faster. I am sorry I missed the landing of the chute or the plane but it got rather interesting rather fast. At least the plane is again still in one piece and we did recover the parachute and figure thanks in part to two gentlemen who were also there flying that new the area VERY well. After we loaded up our stuff, left the flying field and park we drove a couple miles to the only access road( and I use the term "road" very loosely here) where we recovered the parachute held up in the weeds next to yet another 10 foot high fence with barbwire on top of this one. What an adventure. We learned a lot and the videos should only keep improving.

We'll get it better. Just need to learn how to read the wind better so that we can get a height and drop distance determined.

Thats a really cool plane.
Sounds like you were lucky to find the parachute it traveled a fair old distance.

Yeah, it definitely drifted further than I had anticipated. Dad's paratrooper and chute weigh about 16oz. I didn't expect it to drift as far as it did. Yes, the wind was gusty but I was really surprised that it went as far as it did. Oh well...no not a perfect paratrooper dropper, lol. It's still a fun plane to fly and it's really cool to see the paratrooper drop from the plane.
Next time it's that windy, Dad and I discussed just dropping the NERF football that he has, instead, lol.
