10 minute flight time..... Pretty cool.... Ok that's my weetabix all over my iPad now.... Sick bag not ready....lmao... You got pretty close to those overhead wires at one point Clay... I'm sure that white jeep is going to have a new accessory in its rear window soon. Lol.. Nice flying though mate.... Great proximity practice..... Not that you need it of course..

Thanks guys.. That white Jeep is my old Izusu Trooper... 1991... 400K+ miles on her... Seen the snow covered Rocky Mountains, desserts of Southern California, & even had her in muddy water about 4" below the bottom of the windows. Raised my oldest kids in that truck.. Soccer, baseball, football, skate trips, band equipment... I've parked that thing for about a year and a half now.. Got the Tundra truck.. But I haven't put the trooper up for sale.. I'm emotional about it.. Hell I prolly won't be able to give it away.. Lol.. The 120sr & 450 have hit her a few times.. Lol.. Need to move it back to the side of the house.

I only have 2 1800mah packs.. I've got a bunch of 2250mah packs.. So use them as well on this quad.. They do make the flight characteristics a tad different.. But honestly, I don't see it as a negative.. It's like the extra weight gives it more momentum... It's hard to explain.. But think I'll continue to use them.

Exactly! Iv done something that may be dumb... Thursday I'm picking up a 3s 5000mah 40c (for $25!)pack from a buddy here.. I wanna see how long I can fly with it.. And once I gear up this quad.. How far I can go with it! Lol

Great day at the field! SYNERGY RULES! Went to the park at 10am.. Flew kits with my little man & better half.. Picnic lunch.. Play ground fun.. Water fountain play... Then at 2pm I went across the street to the field & meet up with the fellas.. Flew my butt off till 630pm... Beautiful day.. Tons of fun.. IM BURNT! I look like a freak'n candy cane!

Wow that truck is a legend man.... You can't get rid of that....lol... I like the heavier lipos too, you have to think in advance as the quad just doesn't respond as quick... Quads are just awesome...

Great morning at the field... Gotz it all to my self.. The geni is humming, cooler iced, charger cook'n, 550 & quad fly'n... Sit'n in the shade of my new canopy..awesome! Little man broke my hat can mount.. No video.. I did remember to clean up space on the phone so I could record.. Lol.. But when I reached for the mount I found it broke... I can tell Ya that I do have the 550 almost back to perfect... Next flight I'm dropping the pitch or comp to the tail.. It's kickn a bit too much.. My reg tictocs end up as side tictocs.. Lol.. So that and a bit more tweek'n to stay level on pitch inputs... Still wanting to nose up on hard pumps & maneuvers.. Good day so far!

Pretty windy.. But I got about 3.5hrs in today after work'n 9hrs(on my day off).. Then about 3hrs of skate time... Good day! See the flag... It's Huge!.. And out there... 450 wasn't good today.. Blowout city.. The big birds did good tho...

Pano shot won't load.. To large.. So this is it broke into 2 frames.. Windy.. But a beautiful day... Over across the street by the flags is the park.. Good family spot... An amphitheater is there as well.. Had concerts there tonight.. When there is an event at the park they use our field as a car park... See the portable light trailer... 2 more were mid field where we fly.. Had to pack up once they erected the lights.. That's when I went to the skate park for the rest of the evening.

Back from 2 days of Joe Nall... Man I beat! Did a bunch of fly'n! How much u ask.. I used up most of my new Tx 4000mah pack.. In 2days.. Had a blast tho.. Got my 450 run'n good... Was feel'n it Fri morn'n.. Bout all I flew from.. I don't know 630 or 7 till noon.. Pics & vids are posted in the "Events" section... I'll be posting more there over the next couple days as a lot was done on Justin & Cortez's phone.. Gotta wait till they send them to me.. Anyhow.. 2 days strong w no crashes.. SCORE!

We were talk'n about the gyro in Xaero's thread.. I had said I was having an issue with my AR7200BX as well as he... While at Joe Nall... I found the issue.. Not the gyro... What mine was doin was due to a tail issue & a pitch issue... 1) somehow my mechanical 90 in the tail was not 90 anymore... If I put her in rate mode she would piro... Not drift, spin/piro.. So I fixed that.. 2) pitch... My big birds are set up with 13 degrees collective & 10 degrees cyclic.. Upon one of my many crashes with the 450 & rebuilding her, I must have started using 13 degrees collective on her... Tooo much! She can't handle that much on the head & maintain the tail. I backed it down to 11.5 & it's a lot better.. I think I could further help this by going to a mini tail servo.. Iv got a micro MKS95i on her & it's great.. But I think I could benefit by going mini. Holds pretty good now tho.. Here is a flight after the tweek'n.. Posted in events too.. But here it is anyway.

That's some really smooth flying, Clay! Very nice! Thanks for sharing your issue and solution. I've got to give my 450 a good "going over" today. I'm starting to think that mine is misbehaving in the same manner as yours.

Question for you....at 3:50, in your video, you were doing a skids out funnel. How do you do that?

Yep... That has been a point of aggrivation due to the said issues... Anytime I had got her in a manuever requiring a lot of pitch to hold or I was just haul'n ass.. She would blow out... Couldn't hold it.. Not so bad now thankfully... Making it more evident to me that inspection & maintance should not be taken lightly & done often.. Not just upon a problem.. Anyhow.. I learned them by flying backward circuits/hurricans... While coming around in ur preffered direction... Ur are backward, banked, pushing forward elevator(how much depends on how tight the radious u want), using a good bit of collective(enough to keep it from losing altitude & maintain desired speed) & keeping the tail horizontal... Once she passes u... Move the tail so u have the nose up & tail down while trading the use of elevator to keep the turn for aileron... At this point u do the same things u were doin for the hurrican, but move the functions... U are now using ailerons as u did elev.... If u lose altitude.. Elev & pitch are used to keep it up.. Or down..
