Spektrum DX6 ++ RF PID: ER

Post by murankar »

Okay so I was doing some work on a heli and now my radio wont bind. SO i did some googling and found out that if your DX6 has this RF PID ER entry under the version number menu option then your radio is defective. I also found that this is a common issue on earlier radios. I am not sure when mine was made since I bought it in march and was a display model. If anyone out there knows of this or how to fix it then let me know. I emailed HH tech support so I am waiting to here back.

Neither had I until I google it. Most of the issues I read came from people binding a nano qx.

Here you see the logo is not lit. I am on the main screen. At this point the logo should be lit telling us the radio is transmitting. Mine is off, no the radio is not transmitting.

Here is the screen if you roller click the version number under the serial number. RF PID ER is the problem.

Well she is going in for service. About 1 week turn around from the time i mail it to the time i get it back. So what I gather is going to happen is that they are going to re flash the radio with a working image. So if anyone on here has a similar issue or the same issue then sending it in is the only way to fix this problem. I tried to arrange for a one for one swap at Hobby town but Horizon Hobby was not able to accept the request.

Well for the big secret I have a vcontrol in route. I sent it to the wrong address by accident. So I have to reroute that as soon as it hits the postal service. Next I found this issue because my new 180CFX won't bind. So that my news of the week.

Now as for the radio in question. If the RF PID line has 1.8?? then there should be no issues. If the radio has not faulted and it has 1.7??? Then there is potential for problems. If it had not faulted and is not cutting I would contact horizon hobby as soon as possible to get it fixed anyways. This issue only affects 2014 made radios. Anything from 2015 should be in the clear.

Once the radio goes to ER then it's basically a brick. Go to system settings then down at the bottom of the list is the option that allows you to change the battery type, radio name and such, click next to get to the serial number. High light the version number with the scroll wheel then click it. You should see the screen I have posted, check to psee if your RF PID entry says 1.8. If it does your golden if not get it fixed.

What frame rate are you using? I'm using digital servos all around so I'm using 11ms and mode DSMX. Maybe that has something to do with the binding. Just a guest.

Yes. This maybe the reason why I could not get my Gaui flying right after the fun fly.

I did the same thing and checked both frame rate and mode just for the heck of it and still no problems. The question is; should i leave well enough alone or go ahead and send the radio in. :?
