Dude! That's crazy! I'm real sorry to see that this happened to you....BUT....I'm very proud of you that you had your batteries in a "charging box" so that the damages were just the batteries and parallel board. Well, I hope that the damages were just the batteries and board. You didn't give any other details.

Hey Derek. Sorry about the lack of details. The kids, "Dog,bird and ferret", house, wife and my self are smoked out but fine. It didn't take long to catch fire but 3 hrs to air out the house. I'm glad that I use a metal box instead of a lipo bag to charge or discharge batteries. I also didn't leave the batteries unattended. I couldn't imagine if I was charging 4 or 6 batteries at a time. Anyway it's all good and now I'm in the market for a charger and batteries

Lucky dude.
My work mate and his family had a lucky escape at the weekend.
He had bought one of those hover boards for his son.
At 9.30pm, not in use, but in the kids room, it spontaneously caught fire.
Completely destroyed the board and burnt through a mattress.
Luckily no one was injured, just smoke damaged walls and a new bed needed.
My workmate will never again be buying cheap knockoff toys for his kids.

Hey KevG. Your right about the battery pop. I did here some sizzling before I seen the smoke. I check the charger out and it's still working. I do have a new charger, the same para board and a couple of new batteries on the way. It was diffidently a wake up call .
