Kev's flight log

Post by KevG »

Well it's been a long time since I posted up a video, so here's a short one of the 250 in the hall trying out the new zeal blades

Thanks Dan, yes nice and solid, not like I was told a 250 was supposed to behave,

Tony that was a tad bumpy but landing on throttle hold is never gonna be truely pretty,

Blades were great, sounded quiet but did get some tone on pitch pump, but more to follow in the blades thread.

Looked sweet mate.
That hall looks small even for a 250 :D

Prob 30ft wide, 250 is ok but 450 gets tight,

oh and on the tight note, my old 450 that I sold was back at the club with its new owner this week and he had a bad night, picked a fight with one of the curtains and lost, 2 servos blades dfc link ends probably a shaft or two, oh and main gear,

Got side on next to the curtain and dumb thumbed into the curtain instead of away from it, been telling him to keep it tail in but he would not listen,

Well just had my first heli flights of 2015,

Four batteries in the hall on my 250, and loved every minute of them,

This little bird feels freaking awesome, and because of the help from the hubsan I am starting to get more comfortable with nose in, but I got to say the set up on this 250 with the Spartan helps immensely as its rock solid,

Congratulations! That's awesome Kev, glad you had fun. Its been ages since I saw a flight report, started to worry, lol. Sounds like a good set up for the long winter nights between the quad and the 250 in the hall.
When summer arrives you ll be throwing that thing around like a good yin.
Are you happy sticking with the 250 and spartan or are you tempted by the Oxy 3 or 180 cfx? I love the idea of a heli that sort of size.

I was so tempted with the Oxy 3 but at £240 + for airframe blades motor and esc it's just to much of an investment for me as I have this great 250, even though i have the servos and fbl it's still gone be £300 when I factor in batteries,

The 180 cfx does intrest me as an inverted or 3d trainer though, so that might be next,

Nice, Kev. Glad someone's flying. Windy, cold, miserable here lately. Waiting for a break in the weather to fly my 180 and 300 again.

Yeah I am glad I have access to sports halls 2 times a week and the hubsan in the house helps as did the Mcpx last year around this time, weather outside this week is raining with up to 30mph winds by Friday, not going to be pretty,

Wow that's awesome, handier size too. You never know, me and the bro might go for a bit of a road trip in the summer.
