Just found a motor on hobbyking that would have worked. Save myself 30 bux. Oh well. May go that route when/if I want to upgrade the motor something with a little more power.

Got the new fuselage. Canopy doesn't quite fit on it, need to ream one of the holes up front so the securing posts will fit right, I think. Otherwise it looks great.

Also have the motor, esc, batteries, props, and servo extensions. Somehow managed to order a bunch of 12" when I needed a couple of 16" ones too, so still have to get some of them. Only thing left is the Rx. I have a couple here I can use during the build, but am investigating stabilizing Rx's. Leaning SPMAR636 at the moment. My poor track record with Orange stuff is making me hesitant to go that route.

So hopefully will be starting this build next week.

Are you going with the AR635? I really like it. I've heard guys say it's not real flying if you use it. Uh hello it's stabilization not auto pilot. You can crash just as easily with it then without. I really like the 3D mode.

Yeah. Ordered one up a few days ago and have it in hand now. Came with programming cables too. Nice. So I think that completes the parts I need (except for that servo lead). So now the build... :)

Yeah. Until I crash it. On my first take off attempt. :)

Thinking I may need to get a cheap BNF foamie just to get the hang of the real world airplanes before flying this one.

Well, that may not be a bad idea, Paul! Get something inexpensive that you can take to the park and get use to the different characteristics.

When you get to the point of flying your Edge 540T, just take it easy...keep the throttle respective...small stick inputs...life should be good.

Well I started the build tonight. Didn't get far. Turns out the servos I got are a bit too small to fit the pre-cut openings. So ordered up 4 alternatives. Hope these work right. Will keep going. Servos should be here Friday.

Servos showed up. Size looks much better. Have to lengthen the holes a bit. Project will continue soon, but spent tonight working on getting the gob 500 fixed up.

Picked up a Visionaire today as a foamie trainer. Figured I should crash that a few times before trying to fly the ARF Edge 540. :) I'm heading to the field tomorrow since the weather is supposed to be crazy nice (mid 60's, 10mph and under wind, sunny). Will try to get some videos. I always feel odd with my head cam rig on when other people are around though, and I expect the field will be veyr busy tomorrow since it is the first good day in a long long time.

Will jump back into the build tomorrow evening probably. Have to lengthen the servo openings a bit, but hoping it will go together quick after that.

We'll see. I've been working in a cluttered mess of an area. Doesn't make for good pics. Maybe I'll move the works down to the basement...
