cc3d drifting issue
I took my quad to the field this morning to try my hand at FPV the first few flights/crashes went ok. After about 4-5 crashes (not hard and not from high up) the quad started to drift forward and left (attitude mode) so i held the stick in place to keep it still but it carried on rotating in the pitch and roll axis at this point i ditched it from about 3ft up. i then flew it LOS to have a look at the issue and it was the same, at this point the heavens opened and i had to pack up and go.
I while later i switched it all on and took it into the garden for a test hover and if flew perfect???
Has anyone got any idea of what might be going on?

Re: cc3d drifting issue
Just as a guess Dan, could it have got any dampness in the electronics from crash off the grass maybe. It may have dried off at home before you took it in garden... Just a thought

Re: cc3d drifting issue
Thanks for the idea Tony but i think ive found it. I span the quad up in hand (props on) and the front right motor wasn't giving as much thrust as the other 3 so ive recalibrated the ESC's high and low end points and all seems good. ive spun up in hand again and the thrust is even from all 4 motors.
Ive also had a quick test hover and the drift has gone.

Re: cc3d drifting issue
Thanks Tony i didn't do too bad considering that only 3 motors where generating the same thrust.

Re: cc3d drifting issue
I had that on my MK1 and re-calibrated and it worked:)
I have done the same thing in setup using calibrate accelerometer:)

Re: cc3d drifting issue
I hadn't thought of that Graham, i will have to go back and sort out the accelerometer bias again as i have done it with that one esc not calibrated correctly.

Re: cc3d drifting issue
Glad you worked it out Dan.
One thing to remember is to make sure the quad is left completely still after plugging in, for 10 seconds to allow it to calibrate.

Re: cc3d drifting issue
That what i thought that i had done first (moved) but the problem reoccured after i had made completely sure it was still during calibration.
luckily the accelerometer bias isn't that far out so it shouldn't take too much to get it right.

Re: cc3d drifting issue
yeah back through the goals, im using the goals for orientation and obstacles. i sit about 30-40ft away from the goals and the plan is to do figure of 8's to practice cornering.
