Not bad then, the legs is why I put the foam ones on mine, just a little raise and a bit of cushioning when on the ground,

Nice flight Dan.
You've come a long way in a few short weeks. :)

The big plus with these minis is how little a crash generally ends up costing.
The cost of crashing a 500 heli will almost buy a whole mini. :)

It helps having a quad that flies properly. Your right stambo one crash of the 550 would buy a whole new porket -fpv gear.

I've done a bit more tuning this afternoon (LOS) and have been able to raise the gains p's a few points and the i's quite a lot there doesn't seem to be any visual oscillation, but we will see (the camera never lies). I'm hoping to get out in the morning again for an fpv testing, I will try to take it a bit easier lol. Its had to take it easy on these things they just want to be thrashed.

I've got a bit of bounce on the yaw axis that im trying to tune out its like the d is too low, i've raised the yaw D and I but havve to fpv it to see the results as the wobbly bounce cant be seen LOS it tends to more when at speed.

Take it easy, what's that?
I just can't help it, I go out for a nice quiet flight and end up thrashing the **** out of it. :)
I just need more batteries now, and more power. :)
Can't afford it at the moment, but I have some stuff about to go on the market.
Then we'll see what develops. :)

Lol, I did say try to take it easy. I do know what you mean about thrashing it and needing more power.
I can feel another project coming on.

I think I may have sorted the yaw wobble issue out. I've done a load of Los testing today. Now on the previous says setting I found that the yaw axis would overshoot by about 30 degrees once the rudder was released. So I messed around with the yaw pids for a few tedious hour and got nowhere. After another couple of hours of searching the net I found a post on rcg where a guy had got yge same sort of behavior with a blackout it turned out to be his looptime value. So I tried many different loop times and didn't get anywhere with it again.

So after a few frustrating hours I went with plan B did a full chip erase and reflash. Then started the setup from fresh (i didn't use the porket cli dump file).
The setup I've done is using pid controller 1 (cleanflights own beta pid controller). The overshoot was still there on the stock settings so I up the yaw p and it started to get better so I've just kept uping the yaw p to the point that it doesn't overshoot anymore.
I will be test flying in the morning weather permitting, video to follow.

I've got all my pid's on switches on my tx. 1, 3 position selects P I or D and the other 3 position is up down and fixed. The only problem with it is that roll and pitch are linked so the adjustments go to both axis. It seems to work ok though.

Its been pouring down here all day so no testing, instead Ive been doing some research into this overshoot/rudder continuation and have found that people who have had it have been using gemfan 5030 props most of them fixed the problem with hq5040's, apparently it is to do with the GF5030 not giving enough rudder authority, So to test this theory ive ordered one set of HQ5045 to see if this cures the problem. The new test blades should be with me on saturday morning so im hoping to do some comparison flights on saturday afternoon, There will of course be video footage of flights with both types of props.

I did a couple of test flights this morning and the problem was gone untill the voltage of the battery started to get low which to me indicate that it may be the props.
