In my eyes, Dans last video looked super smooth, turns etc were perfect. So to me that's perfection. I guess I can't see what you guys can... I would be over the moon if my flights and vids were like that..

Watch when he does the roll. The quad has a little bounce back twitch.
This is what he is trying to get rid of.
The D gain is like a damper. So raising it will reduce that bounce back effect on hard stops.
Just like the shocks on your car.

yes i seen that twitching... seemed to over do it, then it came back level... hmmmm...lol, the thing i did notice also was the jerking when giving it small elevator movements in FF.. can that be dampened ?? or it that normal...?

That can also be tuned out with d but at the moment I'm unsure if the pitch and roll rates are too high so I am over doing it when giving pitch/roll input and then having to correct after stick input

i think its the vtx antenna its held in place with a couple of cable ties ive had a look at it (shaken it about lol) and it rattles a bit, Ive changed the ties for new and made then tighter. Ive checked all the motors and they are smooth, so im not worried about it but We will see if the cable ties have cured the noise on the next flight.

Nice flight Dan.
Your altitude control at low level has improved heaps.
Good idea trying to follow the lines on the field, I never thought of that but it's good for developing and maintaining accuracy.
I don't know how you do it standing up though.
I have to sit down or I am likely to fall over. :)

Took it out for a test fly i was going to try some pid adjustments but it was blowing around 25mph so didn't bother with the pids just had some fun in the wind with the new camera position. at 1:51 i was aiming for through the goal but the wind carried it wide, i really thought that i was in the post

Nice flight again Dan.
If you turn the volume up and replay the pole bit, listen carefully, you hit it. :)
You can slow it down with the youtube player and definitely hear the hit.
That was so close to being a lot worse. :)

What DAN'S Kamikaze flight school. Lol

With the mini quads they bounce and props are cheap so just get out there and crash it, its the only way to learn. Record every flight watch it, watch it and watch it again Especially if you crash.

I have also spent hours watching footage of the best miniquad pilots on YouTube, watching how they set them self's up for the next bend or how aggressive they have to be to make a turn.
That's what I was trying yesterday trying to be a bit more aggressive in my flying style it was soon much fun doing those hard 180degree turns in that wind.
its like learning to drive with practice you can drive faster without the mental overload just get used to your craft and then when you've got a flat calm day switch to rate mode and keep it low 10-15 feet works well and if it's getting away lower the throttle, what's the worst that can happen? You might have to replace a prop or 2.

Stambo spot on about keeping sessions short too. I've only just stated to fly over the 3 min mark, at the moment I'm going out and pushing as hard as I think I can lower closer faster higher lol.

I hope these Sunday morning ramblings help you out guys.

very short flight today i was hoping to get a bit more airtime but the weather wasn't cooperating.

Trying a bit of proximity, its amazing what you can't see. it started raining again, while i was replacing a prop so i had to abandon the session.
