Well I have to say that I am kinda surprised that NO ONE said anything negative about the Assault 700, lol. It's surely no SAB, Synergy, nor Thunder Tiger but I really do believe that I'll do a great job with the build. Double checking this and that, just as I do on any of my other helicopters. I don't take these things lightly. They can be very dangerous machines if mistreated and I don't believe that I mistreat anything I fly.

Anyway...I've got a few other projects on the workbench (all at the same time, lol) right now. I'll order parts for the Assault 700 as the money allows. This helicopter will most likely turn into a "late fall" or "winter" project. I'll start a specific thread for it when I start getting close to some forward progress. I do want to take EVERYTHING apart, clean it real good, lube it, locktite it and all that...that way I know it was done.

Tell you why nobody is saying anything mate, because your building it, and you have a reputation for safety, being methodical, using the best electronics you can afford.... we ALL know it won't be thrashing the air till it's perfectly setup....regardless of its make..... :D

That was really nice of you to say, Tony! Thank you! I surely believe in having fun in this hobby but there is no such thing as "fun" if safety is ignored. So....again, thank you!!!

I'm just happy people are still into helis. As I said in another thread, quads quads quads have seemed to take over a good part of the industry.

And you already seem well aware of the potential pitfall this could turn into being an HK product, so no need to point out the care needed in ptting it together and doing first flights.

And, frankly, I just witnessed a Logo vibrate itself into pieces upon take off the other day and my Blade 550X just ate a main gear in mid air due to a pinion coming loose. So problems all around, why not give a HK a try? :)

If I had to decided to fly only one type of model (heli's, planes, or multirotors), without a doubt, I'd be flying the helicopters. There is just something about them that I can't get enough of. I guess I just haven't talked about my helicopters much lately because they are working very well. I have a slight rearward drift with my FB 500 that I can't figure out "yet", lol....but my helicopters are here to stay.

Hey there Derek. I agree with you about having a blast flying helis. It's the challenge!
