I was doing some searching today and I found this...

http://www.sears.com/dragonpad-5-feet-1 ... Redirect=y

It has an HDMI on one end and a "green" video cable on the other end. Maybe this will work.

That's interesting!!! I read the description and it sounds like the perfect piece. The price isn't horrible and its awesome that you found this item here in the states. Thanks for that, Stambo!!!

I did order the converter. It should be here mid next week. I can live with that.

I got a notification that the converter had been shipped. The listing on ebay said that it's being shipped from Richardson, Texas. I checked on the tracking number to see if the number was active, and it is, but the post office tracking site shows that the converter is being sent from Las Vegas, Nevada, lol. Oh well, as long as it gets here. I imagine I'll have the converter by Monday....Tuesday at the latest.

If you look at the picture, there is USB next to the power plug. :)

If someone could guide me, I'd like to do it with a BEC.

My box showed up today. 8 days to go half way across the country? It must have been a postman on a bicycle, lol. Anyway...it's here. I'm working tonight but I should be off this weekend. I'll hook it up to my laptop and use the USB to power the box. Hopefully that solves the problem. If so, then we just need to sort out how to run the box off a BEC.

If you look next to your power in plug on your monitor there is a USB socket.
Just use a standard USB cable from that to your adaptor, no extra parts required.
This will use the battery that feeds the monitor, regulated through the TV down to 5v.
You still use the HDMI for your picture.
