Flite Test "Bloody Wonder".....but faster

Post by Derek »

It's so cold here, there is no way that I would want to go flying. Don't get me wrong, I want to go flying, but the temperatures are well below freezing....so, I'm not interested, lol. While trying to find something to occupy myself, I decided to build, yet, another plane, lol. I wanted a small plane but I also wanted a fast plane. I decided to build a Flite Test "Bloody Wonder." Instead of a foam spar, like Flite Test uses, I've opted for a rather sturdy length of balsa wood. Once I glued it into place, it's quite rigid. If I remember right, Flite Test flies their "Bloody Wonder" planes on small 3S packs. I've picked out electronics that will allow me to maiden and trim the plane on 3S packs but will also let me use my 4S packs. I also plan on ordering some small 6S packs. Can you picture that??? A small foamboard plane with a 6S setup.....should be a "screamin' demon."

All that I have left to do is to get some new push rods and connect the single aileron servo to each aileron....then wait for some "non-freezing" weather to go fly.

Looks good Derek, I hope you have done better than stock with that motor mount.
4s or especially 6s might rip the motor off the front. :)

I think ive done it well enough. Its been glued and taped. I just need to hit the lhs for some control rods for the ailerons. I have plenty of 3S and 4S packs for the maiden and trimming flights. If all goes well, I'll order two 6S 1300-1400mah packs....depending on availability and price.

Thanks Graham! Currently, the tips of the wings are still left open. I should probably cover them up, either with tape or glue on some foamboard.
