As I said somewhere else Derek, I am currently flying my mini out to about 800m on a 250mw vtx with no issues, 400mw should be fine.
I would make sure you are getting a 600tvl camera though.

Lee found that www.getfpv.com had the Immersion 600mw vtx in stock. I have contacted them and they did confirm that the 600mw is in stock. I went ahead and ordered that vtx, an Immersion vrx, and a set of Blue Beam Ultra antennas. Unfortunately, GetFPV.com was out of stock on most cameras under $100. So...I just need to find a place that I can order a camera (600tvl per Stambo's suggestion).

No doubt, that camera looks good, Lee! I just don't want to pay $70 for a camera. I suppose if i have to pay the $$ for a good camera, then I will. im just not sure that im quite ready to do that now. I'll keep it as an option.

It looks like I may have to edit my previous post, lol. I was just looking at cameras and it seems that, even for a basic 600tvl camera is a minimum of $70. Hmmmm....what to do, what to do, lol

It is a good camera Derek, I will get another as soon as I can afford it for my bigger quad.
It you go lower tvl you can notice the difference in quality.
If you higher tvl you start introducing a bit of lag.

Ok, I think I have it all sorted out. I ordered the vtx, vrx, cables, and antennas from www.getfpv.com this morning. I was just talking with my buddy at Stone Blue Airlines and I just ordered one of their 600tvl mini cams. The cam was $51.00 with shipping.

bummer....i wish I would have seen that earlier. I did order a 600tvl camera from SBA and I got a message from them that my order was shipped. It looks like my haste and impatience is gonna cost me a bit again, lol.

I just realized....i dont have one of those plastic protective cases for my Naze32. I wanted one. I love protective cases. Does anyone here NOT use a protective case or do you know of anyone that does NOT use a protective case?

I'll have to hunt one down. My usual shops are all out of stock, figures, lol.

I don't have the protective case, my naze is screwed to some short standoffs it doesn't seem to have give me any issues so far.

I was just a bit worried about the possibility of the morning dew, or similar, getting onto the board and causing issues.

I'm sure that I have enough scrap wood around here that I could make a landing pad.

I don't use a case, my board has had a little squirt of CorrosionX though.

Just a sheet of foam cut to size. Less than a few cents.

I just got an email saying that my new 600tvl camera has been shipped. Awesome! I'm just waiting to hear from GetFPV.com about my order from them being shipped.
