Post by murankar »

Today i finally got the male things up to buy the new radio. I am also waiting for the new airframe. Since this is about the radio here is the part that I have been over excited about.

Wow, that looks cool, how does it differ from the dx6i?

The DX6 has a wireless buddy box, DX6i doesn't. The DX6 has voice alerts, DX6i doesn't. The DX6 has some three position switches, the DX6i doesn't. The DX6 has a backlit screen, the DX6i doesn't. Those are the differences that I know of. The DX6 is a very nice upgrade from a DX6i. Oh....and the gimbals are much much smoother, too.

And the DX6 will drink electrons and the DX6i doesn't. I have had the radio on for about a total of an hour and half. I already went through half of the stock batteries. I did how ever made my way to Best Buy (electronic appliance store) and got some 2300 mah rechargeable energizers, I got 8 in total. When I can afford the purchase I will get a lipo for the radio and maybe a carry case/bag. I may just make one because I have a bunch of Army ACU pattern material just sitting here around. I think all I would need is some dense foam for padding. I am thinking something like a clam shell style. Carve out the center to form the radio or little cut outs for the gimbals and switches.

As for comapired to the TH9X, well lets just say I wont go there. No need to in my eyes. HAnds down the DX6 just from what little sim time I have had today. When the Kbar gets here and I can get the X3 in the air then I will know for sure.

My flying buddy has the DX6. He bought the Lithium Ion pack for it and it seems to last a good long time.

Right now after all the buying I have done over the last month or so I couldnt swallow the $50 + USD for it. I just got 8 Energizer rechargeables good for 2300 mah each. FOr now that should hold down untill I can get a Turnigy 4000 nah TX pack for the DX8. Should last twice as long. Until then AAs it is.

I will once the mail man decides to deliver my packages. I have two items in route that are needed to fly. Actually the only thing I need is are the skids but since I have a sat now and no RX I will need the kbar as well unless I switch back to the zyx-s.

I think for s&gs I will try it on the new radio and see how it works.

The 4000 mah upgrade is totally worth it. I recently replaced the 2000 liion dx7 pack with my old 4000 pack, 2000 mah just doesn't cut it.

I have had 2 guys at the club say the same thing. So that pack will be on the list when I can front the extra cash. This radio completes my kit and now I can focus on parts for the X3 which is way cheaper. I think now I can work on pilot proficiency stuff with out issues now.

Yeah, I have the 4000mah pack in my DX8. It's awesome because it's very rare that I have to charge the pack.. Love it!!!
