I had the same until the start of the school year & my son left for college.. He gets pissed when he comes home and is banned from his own room.. Well, my room.. Hell I built it! Lol.. Still functions for his clothes and closet space.. But hey.. Lol

My frame is the Dart 250 FPV quad with power distribution board and clean/dirty frame, from Hobby King. Their spare parts have been on backorder FOREVER so if something "ill" happens to my quad, I'll probably just get a different frame from somewhere more local. My quad, with everything on it, is probably the heaviest quad at the Hangout. I'd like to shave some weight from somewhere, just not sure where.

Sooo... This is definitely not anywhere near as sexy a build as I do on my helis... Not even close! Looks like crap! ... But will it fly?

Exactly how are u guys mounting ur LEDs... I used the back of a small plastic paper binder.. It was a bit large.. So I cut it to size.. Use a bit of CA to hold it in place... Then I attached the LEDs to the made mount.. But the CA doesn't hold well to the carbon fiber.. Should I use a small amount of epoxy?

Epoxy or hot glue should do the trick.

Got it done minus the FPV gear.. Flys pretty stable but I won't be able to give it to her and play w the gains for a bit... Running the sat at 5v causes consistent brown outs. I have a Spektrum adapter on the way.. Coming from Australia so I'll be waiting for about 2wks.

I think both the naze32 and cc3d have 3.3v pads for you to solder the sat power too

Well.. Here it is... I did notice slices in the negative lead of my packs... Have to fix that.. But with exception of tweak'n gains.. She's done until I get FPV gear. Not my most sexy build.. But I dig it.. And for $110 bucks.. Awesome!

Think I may do 6 red LEDs across the back instead of 3... My strips goin in increments of 3.. Can't cut it down more or they won't work... Unless someone has a suggestion.

I have green on the back of mine because that was the brightest I had.
I have since found out they they are near invisible to my flying buddies FPV cam unless it's almost dark.
I am going to put red on one side and leave green on the other and see how that goes.

The quad is looking good, Clay! I mounted my LED's simply with zipties. No, it's not as "clean" but....it's my first quad build and I was just concentrating on functionality.

As for the LED's....I think that 3 is the minimum that can be used because there are the three LED's in between each cut point. I have 6 white LED's on the front and 6 blue LED's on the back of my quad.
