Thanks guys.

I thought that I would give pid 2 (lux float) a go, I've been seeing some very smooth results with it. All I've done is set the p's up LOS.

Yaw is rock solid. Roll and pitch, the p's and d's are a tad high the i's are a bit low, I'm hoping to get the pids pretty much nailed down over the next few days.

My I'm pretty happy with it mate. There's a lot of room for improvement with the pids.

I've been LOS tuning again today and seem to have the roll sorted and just need to reduce the pitch d a bit more as there's a slight slow wobble on stop

I'm hoping to get out tomorrow and see how they fare fpving I'm hoping to be really close.

Ive roughly measured the route on google maps and its around the 630m mark, so that equates to an average speed of around the 45mph range, the scary thing is that was at about half throttle.

The Vtx im using is a skyzone 200mw vtx, it gets a bit glitchy at this field due to the swimming baths (lots of pumps and stuff) being behind me.

Im uploading another video after a bit of pid tuning, I really like this pid controller it feels very fluid and linear

200mW isnt much, are you not worried about losing signal at that distance... i think ill do a radio check tomorrow in the field i go to, just to see how far i can actually go...

45 mph is a pretty good speed even if it was full throttle... half..... wow pretty awesome stuff...

I just read an article about a 200mw video system going 6km on an FPV plane with skew planer wheel antennas. The author of the article did say that the range, of the same video system, would be a bit less on a mini quad. He didn't say why it would be less. I imagine, possibly, because of all the carbon fiber. Nonetheless, a 200mw video systems has some pretty good range....also dependent on your surroundings.

that flight was 75% throttle i set it on take off and made minimum throttle changes, i tryed to correct with the pitch axis.

With the arms being tubular i can add +° of pitch to the props (10°, 12°, 15°, whatever) which decreases drag from the top and bottom plates and will increase the overall speed
The gps is unreliable at the moment (work in progress) but it registers 45 mph as the max speed the quad has flown, what ive found is that when i exceed 40-45mph i loose gsp lock (aaahhhhhhhh. bangs head on the desk)

anyway getting there with the pids lol. shakes all over the show but it feels super tight to fly luxfloat rocks.

A flight from yesterday, a little more pid tuning and another durability test (35mph into my favourite post lol).

There was no damage at all, not even a broken prop.

Looking much smoother Dan.
Looks like it's time to tilt that cam up a bit more, or rotate the arms a bit. :)
