Re: AR7300bx on my Blade 450
I would have thought it's for a reciever pack to power the reciever and servos if you were running a system on a big bird ie 12s 600 or 700 maybe

Re: AR7300bx on my Blade 450
Yeah, there is a battery port on all receivers. Some esc's are BEC OPTO, meaning they do not have an internal BEC and therefore no means to power the rx. Some pilots will disable the internal BEC's so that they can run a larger external BEC. In either case, a small receiver pack can be plugged into that battery port to supply power to the rx.
In your case, Dustin, you probably won't be using the battery port on the 7300 because you'll be using your 3S 2200 packs plugged into the esc and the internal BEC will supply power to the 7300.
I hope this helps.

Hey concept30. I had the same question to ask. I'm thinking about buying the AR7300BX for my Gaui X3 and I would appreciate your feedback on that FBL unit please. I already have 2 AR7200BX and very pleased with them but just wondering what you think of that 7300. Anybody else have good or bad on this unit. Thanks

Re: AR7300bx on my Blade 450
I don't know anything about the Spektrum AR 7200bx nor the AR 7300bx. However, Dustin has bought a 7300 for his Blade 450 3D, recently converted to flybarless so now he basically has a 450X. Congrats on the upgrade, Dustin!!! This is where you need to pay special close attention to each step of the setup. As I was browsing for some information, I saw that the 7300 has listed that it's suitable for 550-800 class helicopters. Is this going to be a problem for Dustin and his 450 helicopter? I sure hope not.

Re: AR7300bx on my Blade 450
I think the 550-800 thing is more about the ec3 connector for a receiver pack and the end of the day it's beastx with a integrated reciever. It should work fine on a 450.
like Derek said Dustin, pay close attention and take your time when your setting it up and the maiden should go really well.
Good luck

Re: AR7300bx on my Blade 450
Should work. You will likely need to dial down the default cyclic and tail gain pots a bit. The 7300bx is a bulky unit, so they may be making that recommendation on size more than anything. But they ship the 300CFX with a 7200BX on it, so hopefully you'll have no problems fitting things.

Re: AR7300bx on my Blade 450
What makes you think that a servo is going out? Align servos are good servos. Just because your setup isn't correct, doesn't mean a servo is going out. They all worked when I had the helicopter.concept30 wrote:I think one of my servos are going out, i thought the align servos was good, but this is the second time one of these servos messed up on me.

Re: AR7300bx on my Blade 450
Up front correction, that is a Blade 500X, not a 550X (actually I'm not sure it is a 500X either, but it definitely is not a 550X, maybe a 450X? yeah, it's a 450X... see at end for different manual link, and just read the thread and saw it was IDed as a 450X conversion... sorry, you said 550X in the video and it threw me). The user manual for it is located here: http://www.bladehelis.com/ProdInfo/File ... ual_EN.pdf
Next, unplug the motor from the ESC. At the stage of setup you are at you have no need to have that motor spinning or causing any potential safety issues.
Second, get that 7300BX mounted propertly. Unless you are just testing fitting it for setup purposes and don't want it attached "permanently" yet, you need to get that unit attached so it is it squared up with the major axes of the helicopter. It cannot be "twisted" relative to the X, Y, and Z axes of the helicopter. It looks like, based on the video, it is not squared off relative to X and Y (forward/backward and right/left) axes. It is slightly twisted counter-clockwise. If you were to fly it like that it would end up feeding bad corrections to the servos and tend to drift and roll in unexpected ways.
The 7300bx should have come with a manual. It has pretty detailed instructions on setup. You need to go through each step in order as described to get it setup properly.
A downloadable PDF of the AR7200BX manual is here: http://www.spektrumrc.com/ProdInfo/File ... ual_EN.pdf
I know it is a 7200BX manual, but they don't appear to have the 7300BX manual up for download (only a short binding instruction sheet). I suspect these menu items will be the same on the 7300BX. If you have a printed 7300BX manual that came with it, use it instead, of course.
The 500X manual also has a listing of the settings they normally ship the 500X's 7200BX pre-programmed with, on page 12. Also they have detailed settings for a variety of transmitters, including the DX6i on page 5.
Because you have non-standard servos and a 7300BX you may encounter changes from the defaults when it comes to 7300BX programming. You can and should use the 7200BX settings in the 500X's manual (page 12) as a guide, but you will need to go through each setup menu item/step in the 7300BX manual and verify it is unchanged from the 7200BX and appropriate for your Align servos, in particular 7200BX settings B, C, and D which setup frequencies and center pulse as well as settings E (tail servo direction) and I (swash servo directions) which may not match up with their equivalent spectrum/eflite servos that would normally ship with the helicopter.
I'd recommend actually unplugging the servos until after you have set settings B, C, D (servo frequencies and center pulse widths). If you have incorrect settings it can result in overheating the servos and even damaging them. Once you have completed step D, you can plug inthe servos based on that diagram for 120 degree swash on page 6.
You cannot rush this. You have a non-standard setup on your hands so you'll need to go through all the settings on both the 7300BX and your transmitter with care to make sure you are setup properly for your first flight attempt with the setup.
450X manual: http://www.horizonhobby.com/pdf/BLH1900-Manual_EN.pdf 7200BX settings are on page 10, DX6i settings on page 6.

Hey concept30, When I have a shaking servo "Twitching" it tell me that the servo is about to go. That just my opinion but Derek and the other will verify the shaking servo.

Re: AR7300bx on my Blade 450
That could be caused by the settings in the 7300. If those are wrong then you have potential to smoke the servo. So get the servo settings right before plugging in.

Re: AR7300bx on my Blade 450
Something must be wrong with my DX6i, so i switch over to my DX6, now the book says not to use the DX6, but i think it means the old DX6 not the new one, everything is working good on the heli, swash plate is moving in the right correction, its been raining everyday here, and i need to get a couple things before I move my heli across the driveway with the training gear on.

I had the DX6i with the AR7200BX for my Tarot 450 ProV2 DFC and the DX6i with the AR7300BX for my Gaui X3 and they was very stable. I replaced the DX6i with the new DX6 and still both birds are very stable.
