My Dad and i are getting together again today

Its gonna be real hot this afternoon but Dad and I are getting together this morning while its cooler. We're gonna go to the club field. Unfortunately Dad wont be able to fly because he doesn't have his AMA yet but he's gonna run the camera for me. So, I will have some video to share later on. The "Turbo Crack Beaver" is back, so we'll try that again. The Delta Ray will be on hand. My Blue Cub and 600 Pro will be there...and I have a maiden flight planned too. Very excited about this one...as always.

I did ask about that. As long as Dad has his AMA membership (soon to get, lol), Dad can fly with me at the club field 3 times a year without getting club membership. If Dad and I are the only ones there, I don't know how they'd keep track, lol, but I try to be an honest person. So...if Dad can fly with me 3 times without club membership, we'll go that route. He can still fly with me at my other place.

Hey Derek. I think cml001 is right about you dad being able to fly as a guest. That's great that you and your dad are going out to have a fly session. You guys have a great time doing so. I'm getting saturated with rain over here There's no site of letting up anytime soon. Maybe next week the rain my cut us a break. Good luck and have fun this morning. I think it is great to be able to share a hobby, sport, or anything to keep a father & son active together... Didn't get that opportunity in my adult life. Yeah, good to hear of ur exploits. Enjoy ur day! I'm off today, but I've got chores this morning.. May be too hot this afternoon for fly'n... I need the rest anyway, I feel beat down.. Keena says I need to stop work'n on my days off & tell the boss no every now & again. She is usually right so.. I may take that advise.

I would have loved to spend time like this with my dad when he was alive.
Like many others here, my father did not have or make the time to enjoy life with his children.
I truly intend to avoid that mistake with my son and I have a feeling that you Derek will be the same with your daughter.

Ya know Stambo...I've seen most of your videos and I greatly enjoy seeing Jacob running around on his bike. I've heard you say that you've gotten him set up with an rc car or two with the possibility of the quads soon. That's fantastic!

My Dad and I didn't have the best of relationships while I was growing up. There was some "distance" between us, metaphorically. However, for the last 10 years (at least), my Dad and I have done so much together. Some of those things were house projects, yard projects, or just tinkering with something. Dad is a "bottomless pit" of ideas and I never hesitate to call on him when I have difficulty figuring something out. I may not always take his suggestions, but I always listen. 9.8 times out of 10, I take his suggestions though, lol.

My work schedule conflicts with "quality" time with my daughter and my wife but I'd like to think that I do a good job. My little girl likes to help and just be "a part of the mix". Whether I'm bringing in groceries from the truck, unloading the truck from a flying outing, doing laundry...whatever....she likes to be there and she likes to help. So, I let her, lol.

Anyway...Dad and I had a great time at the club field. I didn't get to fly my 600, my quad, nor the maiden of a new plane but I did fly the Delta Ray twice, my Blue Cub once, and I flew Dad's bomber twice. The first flight with Dad's plane, we dropped a NERF football. The second flight, we dropped his paratrooper. Dad sent me the videos and pictures that were taken today. I won't be able to share them until this weekend (I really need to get my home pc out of my daughters room, lol.)

Nice one Derek, due to financially poor up bringing in the 60,s/70,s i never spent any time with my father, so i make it up with my son:)

THats great that you have the time with your son. I love it when im working in the garage and my daughter come out and spins the propeller on a plane or my quad and she makes airplane noises. Its funny.
