Back to basics on your new build. I like it Derek.

I've been through my fare share of vtx's until I got a bulkhead fitting. I've not broken a vtx since.

What is a bulk head fitting?

And yes...this new quad is gonna have everything that it "needs" to "function"....nothing more.

this is one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10cm-SMA-Male ... 41967d9a2c one end screws to the vtx and the other end bolts to the quad with the antenna attached it.
