Trex 250 DFC build

Post by KevG »

Well I guess here is the kit, I went for the super combo just for the ease if I had gone for an Internet purchase I would have probably had it less the 3GX

Although I used the manual when building I did not follow it step by step, if you are a beginner I would advise you to follow the manual to the letter.

On opening the box and checking the contents the first and easiest job I did was to go over the head assy, re assembling with thread lock

Then I went on to the tail box assembly, again like the head it was a strip and re assemble with thread lock,

After that I started on the frame sets, the frames come as a lower set and an upper set, they were pre assembled on the upper and loose for the lower, so I put the lower frames together first,

Then went on to centre the servos, install the balls on the arms and install the servos on to the frame

While doing the frames I fixed the bearing on the torque tube and let that dry, once this was all done it was time for a dry fit

Well after the dry build it was a case of meshing up the pinion
Fitting the 3gx unit and tidying up the wiring and as you can see I think I done not to bad a job of it,

And the finished article,

While yes that might have been the end of the build the story does not end here, there are a number of flaws with the 250 that make it not quite good enought out of the box, but that is for another thread,

So please keep an eye open for my 250 Dfc modifications thread coming soon to the small heli section,
Link to follow.
And thanks for reading.

It does look a nice bird like... Very smart. Too small for me unfortunately. 20 feet away and I'd lose sight...lol

i can imagine it does Kev, and the smaller the less chance of me seeing it, hence the NEED for a 700+ heli...lol, ok ill make do with a Gobby 630

That's why you need something with FPV.
I used to have similar problems, as soon as something gets a little too far I loose orientation and off course we know what normally follows. :)
That's why my 450 and 500 are now ornaments.
