What version are you showing for your rf pid? If it's 1.8 you should be okay. Anything lower send it in. It will cost you about $60 for shipping. The repair is warranty work. If you have any doubts call them and ask. I would rather you get it fixed under warranty than not.

Yeah, your right! Might as well get it fixed under warranty before it runs out. I'll call them in the AM to make arrangement to send the radio to get fixed. Thanks murankar for that information on the defect. Well appreciated by me and probably by others also. ;)

No problem. They will tell you to you to use the web site to submit the repair. Call the and ask the questions. They will help you. The guy I got did not here of the issue and put me on hold to get the info needed to instruct me. Call and ask the questions first. You might be good and they will tell you.

I just got off the phone with a tech. from Horizon Hobby. This gentlemen told me that there's no problems or defects with the DX6 TX. I explain the situation about murankar and others having the same problem with their radio. He stated that " The DX6 works fine. If the radio was left on and the battery drains all the way down, then you put new ones in, the orange light will not come on. Most of the time it's operator error he also mention." Now this is totally different from what the gentlemen told murankar! :? I have know idea which way to go. I'm going to keep on flying til the problem occurs to my radio. I'll try calling again this afternoon to see what the next tech will say! :lol: I have an old saying, "Your lie, tell it anyway you want!" :o

============UPDATE:============

SO tomorrow I will be sending out the radio for repair. It will be a matter of a week to get it back. I had to make a final painful purchase to make this happen. I ended up getting a new printer today for a lot of things that will need to be kept for record. I settled on an Epson multi function. Might I digress, So for now I will be sending it in the morning.

HH is notorious for not owning up to this kind of thing. To be fair, not many companies would absent a customer claiming they have the problem. They aren't going to say "Sure we know about that problem," until they have to issues a recall. Until then, unless you're claiming to have the problem and have the symptoms then you aren't going to get them to acknowledge it.

Their service is very good. If you can complaining that you can't use your dx6 after attempting to bund to such and such they will get you back up and going. But they aren't going to admit some hypothetical design level issue until they have enough people calling in with the problem or they have a firmware fix that they can have people install prophylactically.

Not sure if an update would solve the issue. Then again I did reflash the my radios current version. If it can be solved through a quick flash then bonus. From what I have seen and read it only affects the 2014 models. So a recall probably won't happen.

So The radio is done and about to be returned with in the next few days. What was done was that the RX module had to be replaced from how I under stand it.

Now when I sent it in I also bought the return shipping from UPS. I asked the question: "how long should it take to get there?" I was told about 2 days. SO I then asked if it would make a difference if I should upgrade to any other deal and was told no, because it would not take that long to ship. So I got standard shipping. Now the confusion was on my work order I checked the shipping box and for got to uncheck it. SO I called back and told them to use the shipping I sent with the radio. I should have it back by wednesday. On that day the Blade 180CFX will get maidened and the sim will get setup.

Radio was mailed out today. Should have it by Thursday. I will attach a picture of the work order so you all can see what had to be done to fix it. It was a little more than an update.

I just looked at the invoice. They had to replace the rf module and updated the airware and voice features. They also tested the range, signal strength and memory. So yes this was a bit more than just an update.
