It's a strong micro. Def the best I've flown out of the blade micros. I've got to repair mine for the indoor season myself. :)

Had a chance to give it a proper go this Saturday.
The 180CFX is tons better than my old Nano that's for sure.
I could funnel the darn ting, INSIDE, no probs :D
But, there is an annoying tail kick to it - which I'm pretty sure I'll just have to learn to live with.
There is also a "syrupy" feel to it on the ends of collective pitch.

Both of my issues are with the motor I'm guessing, it's able to produce a respectable head speed, but not able to maintain enough torque.
Then again, what am I really expecting from such a small heli?

Anyways, I had a lot of fun with the Blade 180CFX :D
Until I crashed it on the 6th and last battery :D :D :D

Yeah. The tail has a wander to it. I picked up a micro ikon to try on it to see if it would eliminate it.

I haven't really pushed on the collective too much with it. I have a hard enough time keeping it where I want it without testing it. :-)

I've now flown the 180 twice. And of course, I crashed it both times.
This model is not cheap to own I tell ya!
I've come to the point where I'm no longer buying spare parts because the budget is spent :(
The spares are just too damn expensive!
This is no indoor model, it's an outdoor model - not because of it's size, but because of the crash cost.
Indoor flying = crashing - and a lot of it.
ARGH!

END RANT

Two weeks ago I flew my first flights of the season, after not having flown outside since maybe September last year. I was nervous, especially when flying the 700. The 700 seriously needs some tuning, I can't believe I flew last season with the model set up like it is now... Then again, I hate tuning FBL settings - mostly because I don't know how (I'm talking about fine tuning the "feel" of the heli here, not setting up for flight).

My buddy's 600ESP in the back there :)

Anywhoo. I think I'm going to focus on smooth 3D this year, apposed to the stick banger mentality I've been swearing by up to this point. In the trick department, the piro-flip is still on top of the list, as I did not get the hang of it last season.

We even brought a disposable grill and hot dogs :)

Last weekend I shipped the KDS Agile 7.2 south in the country. After having it out on the market for over a year, I had given up selling it. So now I have swapped it out for a Mikado Logo 690SX.

The Logo arrived yesterday.

Image

I'm pretty sure I draw the shortest straw in this deal, as the Logo is older and is equipped with lesser electronics than the KDS. But I was desperate atm, and thought maybe the Logo would be easier to sell than the KDS. I'll check out the Logo before selling it of course, heck, maybe I'll like it?

Time for an update.
So far I've flown maybe three times this season - the interest has not come back at full force yet.
But this may just change - because I've traded away the Logo :D :D

This 700N DFC is now in my possession, and is currently awaiting assembly (and a new BEC which was ordered from Fast-Lad a few minutes ago). I'm very exited to test it out! I now represent the Align corporation 100% LOL :D We'll see how it all works out.

I was hoping there would be a lot of the same parts on the 700N and the 700L, but it looks like there are small differences. Guess I'll find out on my next crash. Hope to get some videos uploaded soon.

The Logo was fine. But even when trying to trade the KDS, I really wanted a 700N - and now I got my way :D

Believe you me, Graham - the 3GX is not going near any of my models! It's up for sale as we speak!! :D :D
The 700N will get a Ikon, like the rest of my fleet.
