Noob question
I have fitted 5030 props to my new build ZMR250 and they seem to be fine, what's the difference with 5040 or 5045 etc, what does to 30,40,45 mean.?

Re: Noob question
The numbers 30,40 etc are the amount of pitch of the prop, well sort of.
If you were to turn a 5030 prop one revolution then the pitch of the blades would make it move 3 inches forward, 5040 4 inches ad 5045 4.5 inches

Welcome to the forum.
Recommended prop depends on your rig and your ability.
A 5030 is a good beginner prop, it will make the quad a bit more docile.
5040 will give you a bit more response to stick inputs which, although good for when you start getting a bit better is not what you want when you are learning.
What motors, speed controllers and battery are you using.
Have you got your FPV gear set up yet, goggles or screen?
Best advice I can suggest if you have not tried FPV yet is to stick the gear on an RC car or truck.
Even a cheapy will do just so you can get used to the gear.
If you are using goggles, have a seat, don't try to do it standing or you may fall over.

Re: Noob question
Thanks guys for the explanation above, just what I assumed, so I'm going to stick with the 5030s I have for now then.
I've got EMAX 2204 2300Kv motors which came bundled with SimonK 20A opto ESCs (no BECs anyway). For now I just have a 3S 1500mAh 25C battery which is fine for my skill right now, but got 3S 1800 45C batteries on order from Banggood.Stambo wrote:What motors, speed controllers and battery are you using

Re: Noob question
I've got my FPV camera (700 TVL) set up at an angle of 10 deg. The VTX is a 32ch 200mw with just a generic stick antenna for now, better cloverleaf antennas on order. This communicates perfectly with my emachine vid screen also from Banggood, no interference or anything so really pleased.Stambo wrote:Have you got your FPV gear set up yet, goggles or screen?
I'll certainly take up your suggestion of getting used to FPV using an RC car then first. My LOS flying skills are basic and just good enough for slow stuff around the garden, so I fully intend to go straight to FPV flying when I get used to the FPV setup.
