Vince31 first ZMR250 build

Post by Vince31 »

Ok, so here is my first ever quadcopter build. Constructed all from Banggood / eBay parts and using YouTube tutorials:

Nothing wrong with a ZMR 250.
There are many versions out there, some better than others but they all do their job well.
Mine has seen countless crashes and is still going strong. :)

Here you can see some of the 3D Printed parts Ive made to tidy up the design, they include a 10 deg tilted camera mount, antenna holder, RX holder etc. You can also see where I've repositioned the capacitor from the ESC on to the PDB so its a cleaner arm. The idea was to reduce wiring to a minimum and keep weight as low as possible. At the rear you can see how I've mounted the Vid TX directly to the top board using a 90 antenna adapter to hold it in place firmly, as well as the battery leads which are soldered vertically directly on to the PDB to stop the leads contacting the props.

We all started this way, everything clean and tidy, ultra fussy with the smallest detail.
Then you realise that when it is flying nobody can see what it looks like.
Each time you crash you are in a bigger hurry to get it flying again.
And your own best view is out the FPV camera.
Eventually function becomes more important than form. :)
