ok, I was looking in the wrong place, lol. It seems that they are in fact predicting an update to the firmware sometime before 2015.

Meant to report on this thread awhile ago.. Been work'n too damn much.. But.. On a few of the days I was suppose to be off and worked.. I only worked half the day.. And did get a few flights in.. So.. Report.. All is good.. Hasn't done it again.. I never changed any settings.. Played with it to see and she was good.. Set the transmitter on the tailgate and light up a smoke and watch her hang there in the air.. Lol.. Weird. Still Love'n iKon!

That's fantastic to hear! I've had my 600, with Ikon, at a high hover and tested the self level. It was very odd but very cool to just let go of the sticks and have the helicopter stay level. Yes, it drifted a bit because of the slight wind that day, but it stayed level. When the weather gets better, I'd like to take the 600 up to a high inverted hover and then flip the switch for a test.

What causes the weird banking is vibes. The ikon uses the gyro in normal flight and are typically very good at vibration isolation. When you flip the SL switch they use the accelerometers to detect movement and these are very susceptible to vibration. I tried the ikon on my 300x and fought with the thing for a long time because the 300x is a flying turd. I gave up on the ikon and went with the bd3sx and never had an issue. That said the heli you have it on should not have a lot of vibes and if it does I would look into why and fix it.

I can't say that I've heard anything negative about the BX. I actually have one, just sitting on my shelf. I've grown very fond of the Ikon because of how easy it was to set up (once I understood it better) and I like the programming on my laptop. The BX gets set up on the BX itself. I'm a bit tempted to sell the BX that I have and use that money towards another Ikon.

For the programming I have to say the Vortex was the easiest that I have set up, and I would swap out my Ikon for another Vx1n if not for the fact I want my big bird to have the self level facility, just wish the unit was not so sensative to vibes, can't find any on my 500 and still had to do loads with the self level setup

Thanks Westy! Yeah I've watched pretty much all ur video.. Good stuff.. I did my spin on the Milton mod initially during the build.. Instead of using Aligns padding.. I've doubled the 3M gel tape and ran the hook & loop round the iKon & mounting plate.. No vibe issues.. It's only done it those couple of times.. Still working great.. A fluke I guess..
