Learning up,down, left right hovering

Post by DOG »

Well I decided to grow a set  and learn how to hover, up,down left and right but inverted :? I'll get the hang of it after awhile :o and a few crashes later  I hope I can get it. https://youtu.be/GbEoQCadpvg

That's right! Progression! I dig it! Use a lower HS for time & to make it a little less snappy... That's how I started to learn orientations... Matter fact.. That's a great thing to continue practicing.. I'm adding it to my list for next practice session! Good post bud!

Thanks there cml001. :) Yeah, what a difference in trying to learn orientation, up side down :? So, to lower my head speed should I lower my throttle curve down "85 straight across now" or lower the tooth count on the motor pinion "13T now" :?: I'm going to keep on practicing til I learn how to hover and be able to turn left or right with control Talking about concentration, this kind of flying keeps me on edge while learning.

Nice flying there Dog, I never got the chance to fly inverted but enjoyed what I did. You done really well to recover one manoeuvre that got close to the trees, I think you should post your settings on here, not in PM so we can all learn from it.. Just a thought.

Post away DOG! With that info I can determine ur gov info for u... But u can use a a flat or v curve.. Either way. I was just say'n a lower HS may give u more flight time and make the heli a bit more docile... It helped me. Think I'm gonna play with HS settings today myself.

Thanks again :) . I appreciate the advice ;) .This flying inverted is new and confusing to me :? . I'm just trying to get the hang of being up/side down and getting my directions going the right way  .I'm going to give you all three helis to pick your brain. :o

1) 450 DFC main blade= 325mm/ Batt.= 3s 2200/30c/ Pinion= 150T main, 13T motor/ ESC = HW 50a/ motor = http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... 700kv.html

2) Gaui X3 main blades = 362mm/ Batt.= 6s 1200/40c/ Pinion= 131T main, 12T motor/ ESC= HW 60a/ motor= http://www.xnovamotors.com/xts-2618-motor-series/

3) 500e DFC main blades= 430mm/ Batt.=6s 2650/20-30c/ Pinion= 162T main, 12T motor/ ESC= Yep 80a "Soon to be HW 80a"/ motor http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... lass_.html

I do most of my practicing with the 450 til I get what I'm practicing down. Then the X3. The 500 not as much  . I need to get to a real field to try fancy stuff with that bird.t Soon  I hope. Let me know if you need more information to helps out :D .
Oh yeah, my throttle curves is a Flat 85 and gov. off. on all 3 helis.

My 450 is down for the time being :( so I decided to try some inverted hovering with the X3. I did OK, I guess. I didn't crash so that's OK for Moi. .

and I know there isn't much room for the 500  but I still take her out to play every once in awhile :) . I tried some inverted hovering too with the 500 :o

I need to get the 450 back flying. I enjoy practicing any new technique on the 450 before trying it out on the X3 or 500.

Try putting the links on separate lines from the text of your post. I fixed up your initial post and the text was running into the links (in some cases even without a space separating them), causing the parser that injects the embedded videos to fail.
