Ikon Self Level

Post by Derek »

I was recently forced to purchase a new laptop. I wanted the Ikon gui on this laptop and, of course, the firmware has been upgraded since last time I've set it up. Now, I have the original generation 1 Ikon FBL unit. It still works, so I haven't upgraded to the IKON2 yet (maybe someday).

Anyway...I have gone through the set up....set up "Rescue" and all that. However, I remember last time, I clicked on a button to "Set Level", that way the unit knew where "level" was. This time, I didn't see a "Set Level" button to click on. Did I miss it somewhere? Did I do something wrong? How does the Ikon know where "level" is?

I've done some searching and it appears that the new Ikon/Brain firmware "auto learns" where "level" is. I don't understand "how" it can do that but, as long as it works, I'm happy.

Actually, I've spoken with "OnTheSnap1", on YouTube (avid IKON user)...according to him, the IKON, with newest firmware, automatically learns where level is. I don't know "how" but that's what he said, lol

Interesting. I recently updated my gui and a couple of firmwares to the latest. But I didn't use self-level before so didn't realize there was a change in that. Will have to take a closer look.

when I used iKon I did have it set up.. and I do recall 2 times that I actually used it.. but was high enough I could have saved it anyway... but for me personally.. I'm usually pretty low at the point of needing it if I could think to use it... and, I'll fight for control the entire way in.. if the CGY750 I use on my fleet had it.. I don't think I'd use it.
