Got my Nano Talon today and took it for it's maiden.
No unboxing, build or flight video, I just wanted to fly it.
It was assembled in about 5 minutes as the wings are all just clip on.
Another 10 minutes hooking up an rx and setting a model in the Taranis and it was ready to go.
Really windy so I figured it would be a good test of the stabilization setup.
It works really well, but it won't stay there long as I am gonna install an f4 fc and gps and set up Inav on it.
This will give me a stabilized RTH capable FPV platform.
This thing is huge inside, room for everything in a plane not much bigger than the Sparrow.
Looking at reviews others have done on this thing I should get 20 plus minutes flight time.
My one and only flight thus far was on 3s but I am told it is 4s capable so that should be fun.
Now I just gotta wait untill my FC arrives though I will probably hook up some FPV gear and log some more flights.
Flight video will come. :D

First FPV flight today, sorry, forgot to hit record on the goggles. :D
Self level works well after a few tweaks but it's not for me. Acro is good, and pass through is no stabilization at all.
It said in the instructions not to trim it in the tx, understandable I guess.
What I might do though is see if I can set the Taranis to ignore trim in all but pass through mode.
I flew 20 minutes on an 1800 3s and still had 11.3v left when I landed, this is gonna give me some pretty good flight times.
Speed was pretty decent too, not sure whether to try 4s yet. :)
Be good once I have the new FC and GPS installed, I will be able to see the pack voltage, amp draw and speed on the OSD, maybe then I will try 4s.

Really windy over the weekend here but I couldn't wait, I flew my Nano Talon with INav and Omnibus F4 pro.
Hard to tell the results but it flew in wind I would normally avoid.
LOS only and half a pack before I chickened out.
Only tried Acro, Horizon and Passthrough, no GPS modes yet.
I recorded the flight but it's hard to tell how well the stabilisation was working because it was so windy.
When I watched the video afterwards the OSD was a bit of information overload.
So many things you can monitor and I had lot's of them displayed.
I am going to have to move and remove some once the novelty of having all that information available wears off.
That is really easy to do in the configurator though.
I was going to upload the video today at work (much faster internet) but the memory stick is sitting on the table at home so you will have to wait until tomorrow. :D

Ok here's the video, nothing flash, not very long but it does show the OSD working.
I have some adjustments to do but I now have to wait for some calmer weather to try an FPV flight.

I just saw your video on YouTube. Pretty cool to see the OSD working. Even flying LOS, that looked like one hell of a bumpy ride. It must have been hella windy lol but it was successful and you got it down in one piece. Nice job!

Yeah.... not sure if I believe that somehow.

If this damn wind would die down I could go out and try it again.

I have a 250 size quad all set up for Jacob and he's itching to get out and fly it again.
I can't wait until he is comfortable with it and we can fly together.

Had another LOS flight of the Nano Talon this evening.
I won't bore you with the video, it's not much better than the last one.
I think I need to filter the power to my VTX, getting some lines in my video.
I definitely need to do some calibration on the Amp draw read of my Omnibus F4 V2.
OSD says I used 1247, charger put in 536, that's a huge discrepancy.
I think my 25 to 30 minutes flight time was a bit optimistic, however if 536mah can give me 10 minutes I should get at least 20.
Hopefully next flight will be FPV, then I can start messing with autotune.
Interesting stats, traveled nearly 9km in 10 minutes flying time.

I gotta say, Stambo....i think it's just awesome that you have a quad all set up for Jacob. I hope you two get some good weather so that you can go flying together. Just awesome, man!!!

I'm still waiting on notification that my F2 boards have been shipped. I check the tracking number and nothing has been updated. It's been almost a week since I ordered them. I hate wait, lol

F2 boards Derek? That's a typo I hope. :)

Hooked a real amp meter to my Nano Talon last night and found the amp draw to be miles out.
These definitely need to be calibrated.
It was reading over 20 amps at full throttle, actual was 10.5.
I adjusted it according to Joshua Bardwells video and it's looking pretty close now.
Now if the wind will back off a bit I can go out and test it. :)

Hey there Stambo. Yes that's is a typo error. He meant to say F4 V2 boards. I also ordered 2 of the Omnibus F4 V2 boards for my fossil 210 about the same time. I'm still waiting too :( Just like Derek and probably everyone else, hate to wait :x The last message I got is this, what ever this mean, 2017-11-12 15:16:00苏州市国际综保区揽投部已收件(揽投员姓名:范建忠,联系电话:) SuZhou. I take it means, slow boat from China

Managed a few more flights with the Nano talon on the weekend, starting to get this thing dialed in better although I tried the autotune and I didn't like the result so I reverted back to how I had it.
I guess I have to learn how to tune PIFs on an airplane.
I know that the OSD can display them and I can set the Taranis to do inflight tuning, this could be interesting. :)
By the time Derek get's to tuning his wing I should have learned a lot more and be able to share the knowledge. :D

Managed to get out yesterday evening with the Nano talon again.
This time I had the roll and pitch PIDs displayed on the OSD and the Taranis set up to adjust them.
Was too windy as usual so not so good for tuning flights.
It's really cool to see the PIDs changing as you fly and not having to land and hook up to the PC.
Once I collect enough footage I am planning to do a tutorial vid on how I set this up and how to tune fixed wing PIDs in flight.
