Well I got tired of my reception coming and going when it wants. So I had a old pole saw I wasn't using and mounted my a receiver/monitor on it. I used my security camera wires that was also laying around and made my self a ground station that I haven't tried it out yet. Too damn cold here Florida maybe this afternoon I'll try it out. I hope it works

Hey Graham. Bee good to see if it works yes and no. I have to go back to the drawing board. Going with plan B and purchases a real VRX. The receiver/monitor was more of a pain in the butt getting it to work but I did get better reception then before... just didn't work out the way I wanted too Lesson learn. That's what is all about, learning

Well they shipped my Lumenier RX5GDR V2 VRX today I should have it by this weekend. I do have a question, can a ground station be to high? The set up I have will put the VRX about 3' above my house but still bellow the tree line. Most ground station I have seen on you tube aren't that far off the ground but they're also in open area. Me on the other hand I'm neither

don't forget your antenna signal patterns, your patch will be like a cone extending out in front of it and your CP will be like a doughnut placed around it, so under the ground station when you are close to the house will be bad reception further away from the house will be better reception, I hope this makes sense, oh and the patch works its best pointing directly at the craft.

Thank you much KevG for that information So then where I have the station and where I sit,"You must of notice my chair and table by the station on the pic" you recommend I should go to the farthest corner where I fly from my house. That's cool, I can do that. Now does it matter how long the video wire is from the station to my goggles? OR does it work the same like my security cameras . I do have a 100' video wire so if I keep my sitting arrangement the same and just move the station outside my flying area should be fine? or do I have to move my self closer to the station too? I'm hoping that the ground station works the same as my security cameras. Some of my cameras are 50' away and some of them are 150' away and I still get the same reception. I would like to stay sitting close to the house.

Since my VRX runs in conflict with my goggles I came up with a different set up. It's the same set up that I have on main computer for my security camera.

From right to left. My VRX output video to my security camera converter box input video. Then the output from the security camera converter to the input of my laptop by using a HDMI to micro HDMI cable instead of a vga because my laptop doesn't have vga hook up . I would like to know if this will work before I purchase my HDMI to micro HDMI cable. That cabal is almost $30.00

I like to start off by saying thank you to everyone for their help I decided to eliminate all the BS and ended up just buying a 19" color TV from Walmart for $69.00. I'm just connecting the Lumenier vrx directly to the TV and be done with it. Once I get everything set up I'll post a pic
