Crossfire Micro V2 Rx with GPS and Omnibus F4 v2

Post by Derek »

Hi guys....I have a UART dilemma. I'm wanting to install a spare Omnibus F4 V2 into my S800 wing with Inav. I've done this install once before on my 49" fpv wing but the difference is that I have a TBS Micro v2 rx in my S800 wing and the install is a bit different for me. I've been asking around and I've been getting a lot of negative comments because I'm asking questions that seem to be "easy" for many people but I'm still uncertain. In my 49" wing, I have the Omnibus F4 V2 and M8N GPS installed and I'm using a Spektrum AR7700 rx, so I have the AR7700 rx connected to the PPM/SBUS pins on the PWM rail, then I have the GPS unit connected to UART6, as per Matt's video tutorial on installing Inav on an Omnibus F4 v2 using the M8N GPS unit. Everything works real well on the 49" wing.

But, I'm being told that I need to connect the Micro v2 rx to a spare UART (many people are saying UART6) and move the GPS to a different UART. I've had some time to think about it and I'm wondering if I can do something. Can I still connect the GPS unit to UART6, using the 5v, ground, rx6, and tx6, and then connect the Micro v2 rx to UART3, using rx3, tx3, and the same 5v and ground as the GPS unit? Here is an illustration explaining my thought....

Or, would you guys have a better suggestion?

Ok, i have finally been able to talk with a guy that was very helpful. He gave me some tips and great instructions. I'll be wiring up the TBS Micro v2 rx and M8N GPS to my Omnibus f4 v2 tomorrow. I'll start a new thread with details and pics.
