well, I'm looking at it this way....although it's been a hassle, at times, it's also been a learning lesson. I surely don't know it all and I'll never claim that I do know it all. I informed Dustin of that fact before he shipped the helicopter to me and he understood that. He has been very patient and understanding and he knows that I've been working on it when my work schedule allows. I've been keeping him up to date on any and all progress, either by text message or Youtube video. He is quite happy with the progress that has been made and hopefully we are near the end of the "troubles" and hopefully I can ship this thing back to him soon.

So the thing with these eflight servos are they are built really cheap. A few things go wrong with them. The brushes are fairly small so they wear out with use. The other issue is the potentiometer. It's super cheap and can pop apart. If you take a servo apart sometimes you can push it back together. I have had pretty good luck with these servos. People don't like them so they sell them dirt cheap. I probably have 20 or 30 of them that I have paid about $2 a piece for.

If they dont work in a heli, put em in a foamy! $2 servos with $2 of dtfb and your in. No reason why you cant have a 4 channel trainer for under $50.

Ok....Matthias shipped out the Scorpion ESC to me the other day..it arrived Thursday....I think it was Thursday, lol. Although I'm mostly interested in this ESC for my own purposes because I don't think that the ESC on the 450 3D is really part of the troubles. It's possible but I don't think it's probable.

I ordered a new tail servo for the helicopter on Monday, as well as external BEC (and some other bits for myself, lol). That package arrived yesterday.

Unfortunately, I have to work tonight and tomorrow night, so I won't get to work on the helicopter again until Monday but, when Monday comes....I'll install the new tail servo. It's a Corona 919mg digital servo. I've used these servo's before and I've been happy with them. Hopefully the new servo will solve the issues. If not, then I think I'm going to change out the rx and use one of my own....just to check and make sure that it's not an rx issue. If that doesn't solve the troubles, then perhaps I'll swap out the stock ESC and then install the Scorpion ESC along with the external BEC...just to be sure that it's not a "voltage" issue.

That all being said, I hope to have some positive news to report next week!

Heres to hoping everything works out for the blade and that package. If you have the time to try that gyro let me know if it works for ya. I was never able to get it working right, again I think my issue was a mechanical issue with the ball link on the servo arm not being close enough to center. Good luck mate and getting flying. Oh that esc should work on planes also. for the specs its the Commander 45 amp, 3S max input and I was not able to find the instructions in a timely manor. I do know scorpion has all there manuals on line.

I appreciate all the help, Matthias! I'm thinking that the esc that is on Dustin's helicopter is in good working order. At least I hope it is because I'd like the Scorpion ESC for myself.

That gyro is teenie tiny, lol. Never seen a gyro like this. I'll have to do some reading on how to work it.

I'm sure I can find a manual on setting up the esc.

Thanks again!

That's the one tony n and Lee did setup videos for. I think they had the hobbyking version. That little thing can control upto a 500. At least that's what Assan says.

Matthias sent me an Assan GA250 gyro. I don't know anything about them but I'll mess with it and see what happens. As far as your helicopter, Dustin, I'll set up the GP790 gyro that you sent me.

The gyro is the size of a keyboard key on a laptop. I just remembered the HK version is called GA250.

I thought the problem was the servo Derek, is it the gyro now?
