I don't know if this the proper location but I thought I would put my videos of scratch built planes in one place.
First my scratch corsair. I wanted one so I built it the main spine is an arrow shaft and then it is all DTFB formers with the foam board rolled and glued to the formers.

Next is my first successful 1 sheet DTFB plane, I call it the one sheeter bush beater. I went with a 30 inch wing span and 20 inch fuse total cost to build 37$ US.
The wheels are pool noodle and soda bottle caps. Very basic plane but small enough to take anywhere. Runs about 8 min on a 500Mah 3s battery. When I remember to charge them!

Will post more later my lunch hour is about over!

Re: Some of my scratch built planes
Very nice mate.
We love to see the scratch builds. Need more
I have built a few in my time, but gave them away to the local kids when we moved.
Time to build some more.

They were great Gerald, I'm so envious of you guys who can make these things and have so much fun flying them... You looked pretty close to those power lines..!! Lol

Here is my Cub design. My first true scratch design. Flies great, tends to be fast and always too fast on landings and because of a rookie mistake on landing gear position it always noses over on landings.

Here is the "Extraparamental"
A scratch built stick style plane. The name came after the first flight, It was a experiment that went totally mental. I never expected this plane to be much more than a failure, boy was I wrong! It is fast and maneuvers like a 3d plane will prop hang, aileron roll like a drill bit, forward loop with in it's own fuse length, knife edge (when I can pull it off). It is great in the wind! So on windy days at the field, the guys all sit around and won't fly! I put this booger up and have a blast! Well here is a Bi-plane attempt, again working with getting as much plane from 1 sheet of DTFB, the lower wing and bottom fuse plate are cut out of one piece and only the elevator is added as a separate part, the fuse is boxy to add strength for the upper wing cabane. The wings are KFM2 with 2x step than normal. The pilot was a cool find at the craft store, bag of 15 for $2.50. It flies but it is hard to explain, on 1 hand it seems tail heavy but the next minute it seems nose heavy. I have about 10 flights on it. Still not to sure on this one! Here is the Wot next from Rcgroups. I built 2 of these, finally retired the first one just wore it out! Great 2nd aileron plane, sporty, maneuverable , capable of way beyond my current pilot skills but you can grow into it!
Boy is this post getting long!
I found my self with no flyable planes and the weather was perfect! I needed some thing quick, I made a Experimental Airlines Noob tube fuselage attached a wing from another plane I built and destroyed the fuse on in one flight. Made a simple rudder and tail assembly, added the landing gear from another failure and this is what I ended up with in under 2 hours. Here are the most recent builds from Flite Test Mini series, The Scout!
Small video of the maiden flight, Really a train wreck with no D-R Expo programmed and I was still very green!http://youtu.be/FawBmudVFko

Re: Some of my scratch built planes
That really is a great collection, Gerald! You know me, I love the scratch build aspect of this hobby. Very very cool!
You mentioned, above, that your Cub tends to "nose over" on landings. My Blue Cub STOL use to nose over on every landing, too. I solved that issue by moving my front landing gear forward a bit. Doing this put a bit more weight behind the "point of pivot" of the landing gear. Maybe something like this can help you out with your Cub.
