Heli Flyer from Virginia Says "Hey!"

Post by HeliBaby1527 »

Boy have I missed you guys!
I've had a lot of health issues that have kept me really busy and preoccupied...Finally found a Pain Specialist for my back and now I'm relatively comfortable for the first time in three years! Also scheduled for eye surgery on this Monday to remove a cataract. No wonder I was always crashing my heli's...I couldn't see'em!

I got a new heli last month for my birthday, a Blade 200 SRX ( I know...another Blade!? ) Haven't had a lot of time to fly it yet, but I really like it so far!
I "totaled" my mCPX BL while flying inside (kitchen wall!) in the mean time! Haven't been able to fix her yet, as my eye problem has me seeing double up close and my depth perception is gone too...It sucks getting old! :(
If I'm good, I asked Santa for the new Blade 180 CFX for Christmas...Yep, another Blade! (That's all my HobbyTown sells in "high end" helis) I asked them why they didn't sell birds like "Align" and they said they did at one time and that they sat on the shelves, so they stopped!? Oh, well...if my eyes hold up, my next bird may be a kit!

I hope my post finds all of you well, happy and flying upright! :D

All the best, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy New Year and Happy Holidays!

Welcome aboard! My lhs said the same thing about align stuff a couple years back. They also stopped stocking much of the stuff above beginner level. They'll order just about anything you want though.

Thanks so much for the welcome, Gerald!

Crash frequently? All the time, my friend...and more to come as long as I'm flying! :?
I haven't met or seen an RC pilot (including the Pros) who hasn't crashed. And I think it's how we learn not to, or at least try not to!

All my best and Happy Holidays to you and yours,

Welcome Terry, hope your eye op goes well so you can see what your flying. A buddy of mine gets grey spots when he is flying his 600 and 700. I'm like dude if its that bad you can't see something that big maybe you should see a doctor, he still hasn't gone in.

Any way good luck and that's really great news about no back pain.

Thank you, Ken...
My cataract eye surgery went very well (as per my Doc!) and I'm home now, taking it easy. Can't see much outta that eye and it feels like there's a large rock in there, but that's all to be expected. The actual surgery took no time at all...worst part was just waiting for my turn! Large practice with lots of patients!!
I can't wait to see what I've been missing for awhile now!

All my best to you and all the well wishers on the hangout!

How you doing Terry? Hoping things are healing up nicely. I want to see you do that maneuver that you displayed on your avatar. Looks like a rainbow perhaps.

Welcome... Glad to hear ur back pain is in check... I know it too well.. Deginerative disc my self.. I'm 2 surgerys deep.. Fusion in my upper & then a microdiscectomy in my lower.. I lived on Vicodin for 2yrs.. Couldn't skate.. Hell I would work my shift and make it home.. Fall to my knees and cry like a baby... LITERALLY!!! Took a long time for them to figure out what was what to fix me.. And my first surgery was at 31yrs old... I didn't allow the surgery.. Took me 6mths to agree to it as I thought I was too young and didn't want to loose mobility... Long story short... I back to acting like I'm 18 again... When have time to anyway... Yadayada yada... Thank you so much, Ken...I am healing up VERY nicely and it's awesome to be able to see again!

Wow, Talk about "Deja Vu"! I guess backs never forget and there's nothing more painful, as far as I'm concerned! Took me THREE YEARS to find a Doc who knew how to treat my pain! It never goes away completely...it's just manageable! And I'll take it! :) I just want to be able to fly my birds and sit to repair them, without a lot of pain! :D
My son-in-law, who turns 40 next month, is having his first back surgery on the 21st of this month! Fusing him from L5 to S1... :o

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! Great to hear from you again too...
