Re: first time fpv set up.
Postage on it is £17, but there would be postage to pay on the other ones. So the difference is the antenna give or take a couple of quid.
I didn't even think of looking at HK for them.

Re: first time fpv set up.
Ah now I looked at them when I had my 350 qx but did not like the quad feel at the time maybe just the way blade wanted it to handle,
But it's a good price none the less, just to get started and then if you want to upgrade you can quite easily and pass the goggles on

The Teleporter is definitely lower resolution than the predator.
As in about half, Teleporter is 320x240. Predator is I believe 640x480.
Just so you know what you are comparing.
With the Teleporter, you most likely will upgrade at a later date.
My predators are still fine, I may upgrade to Skyzones later but there is no hurry.
I know the Teleporter kit is very attractive with the HD recording camera but the Predators will definitely give you a better experience.
As funds allow you could add the Mobius, which you can attach to any aircraft.
Just my opinion for what it's worth.

Re: first time fpv set up.
Does the mobius record and send av at the same time?
And how hard would it be to wire the mobius to the FS transmitter?

It can but I would avoid it for Miniquad FPV.danhampson wrote:Does the mobius record and send av at the same time?

I use the Mobius camera for record and FPV on my AXN and there is a very slight delay to the goggles.
Not enough to be a worry high up when you have plenty of time.
Awesome camera too, the picture in the goggles is great.
Delay is not something you want in a miniquad as the slightest delay flying through trees could mean a potential disaster.
You may be thinking it will be a while before you start flying through trees and obstacles but trust me, it will not take long at all.

Flying high speed less than a foot off the ground, under, over and around things is for me the best part.
It is probably the only adrenaline sport where you don't have to put your body on the line.

I would suggest going for the best you can possibly stretch to, even if it means waiting a little longer. You will not regret it.

If ever HK gets this back in stock, I'm looking to get this setup:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... _PNF_.html
It would make for a handy wireless repeater system for my 1.3ghz system and also have the screen for my wife or other spectators.

Re: first time fpv set up.
well guys that was super simple, i started tinkering and it was all installed in about 45 mins.
The only problem i ran into is there is a hole in the frame where the camera goes and the camera is just a bit too small to cover the hole, so i used a bit of scrap carbon fiber and some gyro tape to cover the hole and then zip tied the bugger down.
Ive been in the garden with the down link on, i must have looked a right idiot walking around the garden with goggles on and a quad in my hand. im quite surprised at the video quality its alot better than i though it was going to be.
Come on wind stop!!!!

You are gonna love it I am sure.
Just remember altitude is your friend for the first few flights.
Keep moving forward slowly, don't try to hover.
Give yourself lots of room.
Good luck.

Re: first time fpv set up.
I just tried your low gain settings on my quad.
It was very unstable for me, even in LOS flying. Not what you will want when flying fpv
The original elevator settings were rock solid for me. With the way you had them so low, it was very twitchy and unstable and wouldn't hold well.

Re: first time fpv set up.
I had quite a lot of oscillation in hover with the gains higher but I've changed the setup since so I want to go through the gains again. How much oscillation is acceptable in hover, I've seen videos where it seemed quite bad in hover but went in ff.
