I have my Naze32 mounted on plastic standoffs and it flies just fine, I also know it is dead level to the frame..
I don't really know if soft mounting is actually required on a mini.

As far as flying rate mode goes, give it a try.
You have a few FPV flights under your belt, just fly a little higher and back to the middle of the field.
Same as when you were starting off, not too fast and easy on the right stick.
I have my TX set so when I switch to acro (rate) mode it adds a little expo to my aileron and elevator channels.

Once you have flown acro (rate) mode successfully you will probably never use auto level again.
Go on, just do it. :)

Funny you say that. For me looking at all the command line stuff and having to type in what you want, seems way more complicated than just pressing a button :D

Is the wobble in attitude or rate mode?
It's not unusual for rate mode to be smoother than attitude mode.
Try to work out whether it is worse on pitch or roll axis.
Don't know about cc3d but naze32 has separate PIDs for angle (self level) mode.

both but worse in attitude but its only really minor. It doesnt go if i drop the P in rate and/or attitude modes.

Ive been reading on the open pilot forum and found that there is a frequency filter for the gyros and its been recommended to few mini quad owners, they have lowered this settings and its corrected the wobble. Ive lowered this to the recommended setting but have no had chance to test fly it yet, its gone dark here.

I flew it around the garden for a full pack and its tracking straight and true, and feels good, so I'm probably going to go to the field and fpv tomorrow regardless of the gains, weather permitting.

Try putting the D up a little at a time, might help to smooth it out a bit too.

Thanks guys. I'll try some more D. After I've flown it fpv with the gyro filter change.
The weather report looks good for tomorrow so hopefully off to the field.

I finally got out too the field and did 2 packs fpv the first pack the camera didn't record :(

The second pack ended in a crash and having to look for my camera for 15 minutes, theres no damage to the quad other that a broken prop and i found the camera safe and sound in some light snow :D

I was havving a blllast trying to chase the seagulls again

After watching the video back im going to turn the attitude P gains down a touch to see if i can get rid of the slight bobbling.

Heres the video guys enjoy.
