Got another part in the mail. Since the DFC bottom frame plate is so narrow, I ordered the Older Pro plate so that I wouldn't have to cut so much of it out for the cyinder head to clear. I just had to drill new holes for the narrower frame, and cut a little relief so that the exhaust port would clear.

What a gorgeous helicopter! I love the colors on the canopy and I think you've done a very clean job on the build. Very well done!

I'd like to have a nitro heli because it would give me longer flight times but I probably won't get a nitro heli because I don't like the sound of the engine interfering with the sound of the blades.

Well thank you Derek! This has been a fun build, definitely more to it than the 700E. There are a few nitros out at my flying field and they sound awesome!

No, not yet...had to wait for what seemed like forever for the engine and pipe to get here from Rcjapan. Now I just need the 3 lead switch for my electronics, and the 2 cycle oil which should be here Monday... :)

No, not yet. Does anyone know if the TM1000 needs the "Y" cable and voltage sensor to operate? I got the telemetry bound earlier today and all I have connected to it at the moment is the data cable and temp sensor. I got the unit without any leads, and thought for now I could get by with just the temp sensor. But when I power up the heli all I get on my DX8 is the low voltage alarm.

My setup.. iKon & DX9... TM1000 w the data lead(powering the unit & giving RX voltage) to iKon, RPM to the backplate, & temp.. U only need to use the "Y" if u want temp & flight pack voltage. Do your bind with all connections made... When binding do not hold the TM1000 bind button continuously... Press & hold while u power up.. As soon as it starts blinking let go & then quickly turn on ur TX w the TX bind button pressed until it registers. That's how I did it.. Took a while to fiigure out I had to release the TM1000's bind button before pressing the TX bind button.

Thanks! Yeah it took me a while but I got it to bind with my sats connected to the GPro, but I don't have a RX voltage sensor yet, so as soon as the DX8 sees that I get a 0 volt alarm. I can't find if there is a way around it or to disable it in the TX. I know I need the sensor, but don't want to have to wait for one to fire it up. So close....yet so far away!! Lol
