Thanks Stambo:) it was your words that echoed in my head before i put the goggles back on:)

I really did not realise it was so far away. When i removed the goggles i could not even make the lights out. It was then a panic loss of orientation for a few seconds, then i walked forward to get a better look of where i was going to bring her down then eureka, altitude, goggles on, then return to base:)

I am flying angle:)

Holy Crap dude!!!!
That was a lucky escape.
Never take your goggles of. If you do crash it, at least you have a better idea of where it went.
But if you take the goggles off and can't see it, then its toast.
Well done for getting it back.
Yep next time keep it within the bounderies of the pitch. If you do get to the edge, drop it.
A broken prop is better than a lost quad :D Ask Tony about that ;) Water crash :)

I found it hard to judge the height or distance Lee. Removed the goggles to check, then panicked and instinct made me want to land it where it was. As it looked like it was at the end of the pitch, but turned out it was past it:) Gave it altitued to try and orientate, by which time she was going away further. So second blast of height to get goggles slid down over my eyes, then i was able to see where forward was LOL:)

Getting her back was hard as i was fighting the wind:) Steep dive and all was recovered:) Nose in was so much easier with FPV.

All batteries charged for hopeful good weather. 450, 600 and Quad:) 500 getting a rest:)

That's really good, Graham! Very cool!

You said that you were having troubles distinguishing height and distance. I've heard of some people adjusting the angle of the camera so that the horizon is more or less in the middle of the screen. Maybe you could try that. I imagine its a bunch of trial and error until you find "exactly" where you want the camera angle....or, perhaps it's just trial and error while you get yourself more comfortable and confident with the setup.

Anyway....spectacular or not, I'm looking forward to seeing your video.

Haha, well believe me Graham they don't like water so beware.. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.. lmao..

It's really hard getting used to the goggles and perception, FOV is nothing like the real world for me... Something else to get used to I guess... Mine flipped twice on takeoff... Boohoo. Lol
