Looked like you had some fun Dan.
That big gap in the goal posts is not so big when flying FPV huh.:)
Some of those turns are starting to look good now.
You might find that those last little wobbles you are getting are caused by the FC trying to level the craft every time you let the stick centre.
You may not be able to tune that out, flying rate may be the only solution. :)

I just had a thought about your landings.
If you turn your quad so you can see your shadow, you may be better able to judge your decent.

It was awesome Stambo. So much fun.

I think rate mode next flight, it just feels like im fighting it all the time in attitude, im going to take off and land (if it gets that far) in attitude and switch to rate once up.

Some of my other landings were better and i like the idea of the shadow. I think my landings are better because ive not got crazy drift in attitude mode, there were no problems with it throttling up on its own either.

Everything is charge and pack ready for tomorrow

Dan is a very happy pilot. even though i crashed it into a post, imagine that was my 550.

I got to the field today and flew, only flew in acro+ mode which was awesome, It didnt feel like i was fighting the thing all the time. There where a few crashes but that is to be expected, I only broke one prop though which is a result.

I tried to do front flips 1 was good the other resulted in a crash

hope you all enjoy the ride.

Nice flights Dan.
Looks like you are starting to get the hang of it.
Does acro+ still have a degree of self level?
Once you lose any form of self level it becomes more like a FB heli.
Where you put it is where it stays.
That means you can put it in a slight forward lean and leave it there for a nice smooth, gentle forward flight.
That's when your flights become as smooth as the pilot. :)
(As long as the FC setup is reasonably close.)

Thanks Stambo. Ive been watching alot of mini quad flight videos, to see how the best pilots fly (how much bank angle they use and when they apply rudder and listening to motor rev changes, I think its all starting to pay off.

This is copied from the OP forum and briefly explains what acro+ is, "By the sounds of the OP progress logs on this Acro+ stuff, it sounds like a pretty insane mode thats like rate mode, but when at certain stick range, kicks to full manual, and allows you to execute flips etc with no limits..

"1.0 means Acro+ behaves as rate when stick is centered, but at full stick deflection, the craft is fully manual and at full actuator engagement. This means the most powerful rotation force the machine is physically capable of. That would likely tear most frames apart in mid-air!!!!"

i think that l need to turn the pitch and roll rates down a tad and take some of the expo off my tx. it felt a bit mushy around center stick (using 30% expo) and then when i gave forward pitch it was just a bit to quick. The pitch and roll rates are on 220 deg/sec, i think im going to knock it down to 200 and see how i get on. I will turn them back up once I'm a bit more accustomed to it

Im also pitching up in forward flight rather than throttling up (I'm still a bit scared of the speed of it), thats something im going to start working on in my next fights. Although it could be an I gain issue but i need to work out if its me or not first.

I'm officially addicted to this mini quad fpv.

I forgot to put that I had angled the recording camera up a bit, around 20 degrees maybe that's why the quad looked as if it was level in forward flight.

Pitching up in forward flight has a video on YouTube. There's a function on the Naze32 that you can do during flight. Lee and I were talking about it. I have not tried it yet. Internet down tonight on my phone.

Nice one Dan. Looked like you got your setting dialled in well.

@ Graham
What he means by pitching up, is when approaching the ground, instead of increasing the throttle to level out, he's pulling back on the elevator.

@Graham +1 what Lee said. It just a case of me being a noob.

It felt amazing Lee totally locked in far better that in attitude mode I felt far more connected to the quad than on attitude mode. I'll send you that file in the morning im @ work right now.

I'm going to be setting the cc3d up on mad phils quad this weekend so I'm going to use my settings as a base and see what happens.

No problems Kev.

Ive attached a copy of my setup file to this post.

Please be aware that you will have to do a manual set level and controller calibration before you attempt to fly your quad. These settings also have 1 degree of pitch orientation and 90 degrees yaw added that may need to be removed

As ive got another quad to setup over the weekend i will do a tutorial on importing and the setting too check before flight.

As we discussed on Skype Dan, switch over to Rattitude mode from Acro+.
Acro+ is only necessary for insane flips and rolls.
It looked good at higher throttle, but at low throttle it was a bit wobbly. This is probably due to you having 2200mah batteries.
i use 1500 Compacts, so the lighter pacs mean I can use lower gains than you at low throttle inputs.
To compensate for this, you can raise the TPS for low throttle.
Here is an explanation of how to set it up.

Had an awesome session this afternoon :) Nice to ave some light winds for a change :)

Thanks Lee i'll look at that.

The last pack was better than that but the wind had dropped quite alot. the pitch gain is awesome so im going to have a play with the roll gain next couple of flights
